As Tsuyoshi remarked on how they should be having fun, Lady Callia gave a thin smile. “Ah, yes. Just as Rex would of wished… Such a shame they never found his body. Anyhow, I have some business I must attend to, I have much to discuss with Lady Roseburn” Callia would give a slight nod, turning and walking a little bit away before pausing. “It was nice meeting you...Tsuyoshi, was it? Hm. Interesting name…” Callia would continue onwards before finally reaching Lady Eleanor. She’d whisper something to her, which would result in Eleanor glancing over at Tsuyoshi with a slight grin. After a few moments of observation, she’d say something to Callia, before beckoning her to leave. The party would continue being quite a joyous occasion, especially with the copious amount of free booze. It was close to midnight as Eleanor made her way through the crowd with a purpose in mind. Several powerful attendees had decided to join, almost none of which she would recognize. Indeed the only one she would know the name of was The Marquise of Gonzaga-Altamirano, it was hard not to. From what she could recall, the girl was highly intelligent but rather reclusive. Quite a traveler as well. It was a surprise that she attended this party and even more of a surprise that she had such a strong soul. Perhaps she could serve useful later on, as could many of these powerful individuals. Eventually Eleanor would reach her target, the Marquise herself. “It’s nice to meet you, Lady Estrella. I’ve heard so much about you but never expected you’d actually attend. A pleasant surprise to say the least, I hope you’re enjoying yourself?” She’d glance to the girl sitting next to Estrella who was in a traditional japanese dress. Quite an archaic fashion sense… “Ah, and you are?” As Revenant continued to observe the Human-Shinigami duo, he’d begin to notice a strange pressure nearby. Slowly it would grow and grow, until finally it would be difficult to even move. Whatever held this spiritual pressure seemed to be focusing it entirely on him. If he were to look around, he’d notice only a single person nearby. It was Lady Callia, who stood about ten feet away with a slight smirk on her face. She’d edge a little closer, causing the pressure to build a bit more. “Are you alright, Sir? You seem to be a bit stricken with something…” She’d enter within 5 feet. “I do hope this won’t ruin the party for you. It would certainly be a shame to see anything ruin this party. We do have some of the greatest security measures implemented after all” Finally, she’d be about a foot away, leaning in slightly on her tiptoes so she could get a better look at his face. “Nothing would enter this party without our permission or knowledge. Especially not those dirty vermin… You should enjoy the party” She’d close her eyes and give a big smile as all the pressure put on Revenant would disappear completely. She’d give a slight bow before walking away towards the staircase. Tsuyoshi Hidou Lady Arcadia Vayle Cameo Tenchi

''Yo, she gives me the creeps.''Tsuyoshi let Lady Callia finish speaking and finally mention she had other things to attend to, which was more than expected since the rogue wasn't the only guest here. ''You think that one dude mentioning something about torture was on to something? Because.. Miss 'extremely breathtaking' is looking at you for some reason.''The rogue looked at where Callia went and noticed that Lady Roseburn was looking at him with a grin that Tsuyoshi knew a bit too well.. at least when he used it. That moment was enough for him to confirm in his head what was going on, with reward and strong people being the deciding factors here, as well as the things Callia told him. He turned so Callia and Eleanor wouldn't see his face as he began looking at the sword in the case in front of him again, though not paying any mind to the object. ''No body, but they're anouncing to the world he's dead?'' He whispered so that his sword could hear, though he was mainly just musing within himself at this point. ''Something doesn't exactly add up here.'' He looked over to the side, acting like he was looking at the other artifacts, or even the other guests when in reality this had all taken a much different form to Tsuyoshi by now. With Callia callously mentioning that the body had never been found and with Eleanor looking at him like he was nothing but a meal (or so he assumed), he concluded that.. maybe it was a good thing Vayle was here. At least she could play meat shield if the need would arise. Tsuyoshi turned around again though, his eyes on Eleanor for now, smile pasted on his face now slowly fading as he watched her move toward Vayle and.. whoever was with her. Were she and Callia in on something together? ''Do you think they're looking for new people to torture?'' Jidai finally said out of nowhere, breaking Tsuyoshi's trance and bringing a certain feeling of paranoia with him. ''They're both strong right, and with this many people around no one would even bat an eye if you were missing. Not to mention four people out of.. I'm not counting the amount of people in here.''He wasn't happy with the spirit in his sword mentioning this, but Tsuyoshi was thinking the same thing. The one thing he failed to do at this moment though, was keeping his eyes on Callia as well as Eleanor. Takano Hirai Vayle Cameo Lady Arcadia Tenchi

Revenant continued to watch the pair mingle with as the toasts had been made, he didn't like the amount of power that was slowly filling the room. Maybe Vayle had become significantly stronger since they had last met, because a sudden intense pressure had come over him. It didn't appear as though his soul reaper rival had seen him, so what could be this mysterious source of energy? Turning to his head to the left, he would begin the feel the true source of the strange power. It was that of a small woman, and she seemed to be dressed even better than most who came. A massive amount of spiritual energy was seemingly crushing him as she grew closer, it was obviously some sort of spell directed at him... None that he had even seen before. As she first approached and asked if he was feeling okay, the man would give a light smirk "Ah yes, nothing I'm not use to by now. It takes a lot more than a little party to get me ill however..." Revenant said this as to coax her into a reaction, and he got one. She would mention that the building had good security, his suspicions were confirmed. This woman, whoever she was, knew he was the Revenant. She sure seemed nonchalant about him being there, but with a spiritual energy like hers what did she have to fear right? As the woman would leave, the plus would speak into his mirror necklace. "Zena, bad news... The hostess and some other woman know who I am... I hate to say this, but I'm going to need Vayle's help." Without giving his mission control a chance to respond, he would begin slowly walking towards the two women. Once he had made his way over, Revenant would speak with a straight look on his face. "Good evening ladies..." the man would take another sip of his wine before he would give a slight bow to Vayle, "May I have this dance?" He already knew what she was going to say, but would interject with a whisper: "Don't say anything too loudly, they could be watching... This is the easiest way for us to talk without rousing suspicion..." The muscular fellow would then offer an arm to her, hoping she would be willing to work together on this one... Hearing Vayle's veiled compliment towards her got Estrella to release a faint playful giggle. Compliments were nice. Especially from Vayle. After briefly basking herself in the compliment, she offered a response:
"Aw, don't beat yourself down that hard, Vayle. I'm sure you are going to give our duo quite the effective air of mystique."
And perhaps, it was actually working, because it didn't take long for someone to reach out to the two of them. And out of all the attendees, it was Lady Eleanor, the heiress of House Roseburn herself. After stopping in front of Estrella and displaying her surprise at the Marquise choosing to show up today, she turned towards Vayle and asked on who she's supposed to be. Perfect. This is exactly what she was hoping for - and she didn't even need to reach out to anyone, people pretty much threw themselves at the duo apparently.
"Ah, I suppose introductions are in order," Estrella spoke first, standing in betweem Vayle and Eleanor. "Vayle, this is Lady Eleanor of Roseburn, the person who has so generously graced us with this ball and gathering tonight. Eleanor, this is Vayle Cameo, a friend of mine." After leaving a brief window of time for the two women to greet each other and exchange a few words if they so wish, Estrella turned back towards Eleanor, nodded and continued:
"You were right, Lady Eleanor, I initially feared that I would not be able to attend - however, things turned out for the better and I've been able to spare this evening." She had to delay her Reishi research plans to dedicate herself to this social gathering - a ridiculous choice, perhaps, and yet now she was here. "After all, our fathers knew each other fairly well, it only makes sense that I get to pay my respects to his loss. You know... your father always believed that he was going to be the last one of the two of them to pass away, if I remember correctly, and I guess he has been proven correct..."

Vayle looked towards Lady Eleanor, one of her main suspects for the evening, with a look of wonder. her high spirit pressure was certainly no joke - and with that came a lot of other potential abilities lying in the shadows. did she know Vayle's real identity? Was she currently looking for something suspicious from her? Or was she really as she appeared - just an unsuspicious hostess who was already judging Vayle for her choice in garb.
Either way, her question demanded an answer, and she opened her mouth to give a gracious codename-
-Only for Estrella to break what little cover she had immediately! Vayle focused all of her mental energies on not freaking out as she realized just how public her name was. she was on the seireitei register as twentieth seat, not to mention the racey article on her rise in the "Top drinker" Ranks in the shinigami bars! If this person had any access to that information, she could consider her cover blown! ...She'd just have to hope she didn't, then, as she smiled. "I"m pleased to meet you, Lady Eleanor. I've heard a lot about your father's work..." Vayle would add - and it was true, she had done her research on Rex Roseburn. he was a very accomplished explorer and had contributed much to the fields of archaeology, from what she'd found. "As someone who fervently believes we can learn much by tracing our pasts, I have to commend the work he did for the future." She would offer. the comment was genuine. Vayle had always had a veiled interest in archaeology, and she wondered if perhaps that was what she had done in another life. "But may I ask-"
Any other comments Vayle might've had to give were cut off by Revenant suddenly and sharply cutting in, and Vayle had to concentrate not to let her spiritual pressure visibly overflow as a few veins popped up on her head. A look of utter anger showed on her face as she looked towards the un-armoured revenant, grinding her teeth, but as he offered advice, not to mention an arm.
"...Would you excuse me for just a moment, Lady Eleanor?" Vayle asked, keeping her voice mostly steady. "It appears I owe an old acquaintance a dance!"
And with that, Vayle would head off incredibly quickly, sweeping revenant off his feet as she showed a surprising amount of skill, pulling him into a closer dance as they headed towards the floor.
"If I weren't already on mission trying to figure out probably the same thing you are, I would grab you by the hair and hold you down in the punch bowl 'till the bubbles stopped. Understand that." The Shinigami softly muttered in his ear, before sighing. "Tell me what you've figured out.

Eleanor would give a warm smile to Vayle as she grabbed Revenant to dance. “It would seem your friend has found other, more dashing company to keep her busy. Quite the charmer he is…” Her ruby gaze would fall on Estrella, taking a sip from her wine glass as the young Marquise spoke of her father. “I cannot say I had the pleasure of meeting your father, but I did hear quite a bit about him from my own father. From what he told me, you seem to favor him quite a bit” A tall man who navigated the crowds as if they were nothing would appear suddenly next to Eleanor. He would lean down and whisper something to her, causing her grin to widen a bit. “You know my dear, I run a rather...interesting club of sorts. Many of whom are much like us. We have a meeting tonight if you’d be interested in joining it…” She’d finish off her glass of wine, handing the glass itself off to a passing server. “My father once ran it actually, I’m not too sure if your Father knew of it. Allow me to rectify that tonight. If you happen to not interested then please do say. I wouldn’t wish for you to think I was pressuring you” Numerous couples would begin to dance as Vayle dragged Revenant to the floor. Whatever they wished to speak about would go unheard to any normal person, as the music combined with the clicking of feet made for an effective cover. At the top of the staircase stood Lady Callia, observing the ballroom with that snakish grin she seemed to always have. As the dancing went on, she would begin to observe the dancing duo, obviously quite interested in them. Tsuyoshi Hidou Lady Arcadia Vayle Cameo Tenchi

Revenant would chuckle at her threat, as he would allow her to take the lead without much resistance. He could tell she was game for working together, but at the same time she wanted to tear his throat out. It wasn't surprising, especially after there last fight where the woman gave in to her emotions. With a low whisper he would begin to explain the situation to her the best he could, "I'm sure you've been picking up one the high powered individuals at this ball. Both Elenor and Callia posses high levels of spiritual energy, Callia approached me... She knew who I was, meaning she probably knows who you are too, and your friend over there." Revenant would spin Vayle around, continuing the dance, doing his best to look natural. "Callia's presence alone was enough to completely immobilize me. I don't think we can win in a direct fight, but if it comes to that I will need your cooperation." Revenant would glance over to the hostess as the song had nearly finished, and then back to Vayle "Also, the guy in the top hat other there has a decent power. Not as strong as us, but decent nonetheless. I doubt he works with the family, but you can never be too careful, Callia mentioned something about security after all..." The dance had finally ended with a small crowd of onlookers applauding the couples on the floor. As he and Vayle split, the man would quickly say "I'm going to do some snooping around. Let me know if you find anything... Oh, and this once, I promise not to destroy their souls. They will probably be sent to hell anyway..." With that line Revenant would walk off the floor, and into the crowd humbly bowing to his Shinigami rival. Now that he had managed to get Vayle on board, it was time to investigate the man with the top hat. Eventually, he made his way to the well dressed man. It didn't look too threatening, but looks could be deceiving "You seem like a person of 'High Class' perhaps we should get to know one another..." Revenant would extend a hand, while also showing off a bit of his spiritual energy. Revenant didn't recognize Tsuyoshi, but he needed his help. Takano Hirai Lady Arcadia Vayle Cameo Tsuyoshi Hidou

''Rude shit.''Tsuyoshi looked at the man in front of him, focusing on him and not on either Callia or Eleanor at that point as he was being told that they should get to know each other, when during that talk the pressure around the guy rose and plummeted almost as if a threat. ''You think he got that Vayle-bitch to leave the one beside her so that Eleanor could freely intimidate that other thing?''While he wasn't free to talk to his sword as the man in front of him required an answer, he would kick at his cane a bit mainly because the word 'bitch' was uttered, but at the same time Tsuyoshi couldn't help to find some form of logic in the words. ''You seem like a 'person' too.'' Tsuyoshi finally responded in the same tone, not really caring about any power he sensed but still acknowledging it. ''I have no need in getting to know anyone here aside from Eleanor and Callia.'' And that other dude he was supposed to get out, but he wasn't going to mention that. Maybe he was even more hesitant to share anything with this guy since he had taken Vayle away from Eleanor, leaving her free to intimidate or whatever-else the girl she was with. That lead him to believe this guy was working with Eleanor. But there was more to this situation.. ''I'd keep my eyes out if I were you.''Tsuyoshi, already quite done with talking to this guy for one simple reason, walked to the side a bit and allowed his eyes to fall on Eleanor while pretending to look at some sort of flute in a nearby glass case. For some reason, he was sure Eleanor would at least try to talk to him next, and that would likely mean that the guy formerly trying to talk to him had allowed her to follow him and find him. In a room where everyone held at least a small amount of power he would blend right in, but with a power rising and descending rapidly, like this other guy had done, he was sure of two things. One, this thing was working with both Callia and Eleanor. Two, he was being marked for something, alerting people to his presence. Takano Hirai Vayle Cameo Lady Arcadia Tenchi

Huh? Well isn't that something new. Right after introducing herself to Lady Eleanor, Vayle suddenly excused herself and promptly did the exact thing which she said she wasn't going to do - come up to one of the visitors of the ball and pull them in for a dance. Was the alcohol already starting to affect her or something? Eleanor seemed surprised herself, and Estrella could merely agree, saying:
"I'm surprised as well, she's usually a lot more-"
Wait, did she say acquaintance? Since Vayle was a Shinigami, this meant that whoever it was that she found is not from this world. So there are ghosts somewhere among this ball? Unfortunately, Estrella couldn't catch Vayle among all the standing and dancing visitors between them - her short stature didn't help to see far, for sure - and thus the mystery was left in the fog. Meanwhile, Eleanor started speaking about something else, stating that her father ran a some sort of secret society, or a club, and that Estrella is invited to a meeting of this society tonight, to see if she'd be willing to join.
Secret clubs, huh? That was a part of noble culture which Estrella was never really excited over... but hey, it could be fun, depending on what they do out there. To rectify this dilemma, Estrella suddenly reached into her purse, pulled out a coin and tossed it to the air with her thumb before slamming it down to her palm.

Fuck. As Revenant spoke to her, Vayle knew he was telling the truth. The Revenant didn't really care for her, she was certain, which meant that she had only a few choices on why this was going to go down the way it was. She hoped Estrella had gotten the hint she'd given her - she was a smart girl, but she was also a drink in and not ready for this kind of intrigue. Vayle supposed she couldn't really blame her. "It's an... not pleasure... nightmare workin' with ya, Revenant. I'll let you know if I find something. Just make sure you stick to that vow, or I'll stick that stupid rocket launcher of yours where the sun don't shine." Vayle would snap back, before heading off herself. She worked hard not to give the man in the top hat too much of a glance - mostly because she knew exactly who he was. Revenant hadn't really earned the knowledge of who Tsuyoshi Hidou was, in her eyes, but seeing him here made her feel just a little safer about this whole ordeal. He was a rough man, but she could count on him when it counted.
Still, the dance floor was occupied, and Vayle saw her opportunity, flitting along behind a few other ballroom dancers as she found her way towards the bathrooms. This was a perfect time to go snooping herself, and while she knew it probably wouldn't help her against anyone with even a shred of spirit sensing...
Vayle closed the restroom door, and quietly muttered, "Bakudou 26: kyokko"
The restroom door would slowly open, like some stray draft pushed it, but Vayle's gigai would be hidden from sight, at least, to anyone who was properly ordinary. It was time to investigate this mansion a little more thoroughly. And, hey, at least if she was caught by someone, she knew they'd be a proper level of strange.
The shinigami moved from the party room to the rest of the mansion carefully, wishing for all the world that she was a member of the 2nd division at the moment.
