All was quiet within the Roseburn Manor. Even with the imminent arrival of her guests, Eleanor had gone to extreme lengths to ensure her home was as silent as possible. Why? It was simple, she hated useless noise. The creaking of a settling house, the chirping crickets, all far too unworthy for her ears. The lady would give a slight grin as she desendended a small staircase to the basement of the manor. She was accompanied by three figures, each in stark white masks with specific flowers etched in gold. The air would get colder, to the point where she could see her own breath. It was a cold which could chill a person’s very soul, the intention in fact. As she finally reached the lower section one of the figures would lean forward and open the door for her. Upon entering, there was be a man sitting in a chair, bare chested and covered in numerous scars. His dreary eyes turned to a scowl as Eleanor walked to him. A smaller woman off in the corner would hop from her chair and over to Eleanor, holding a syringe. “Madam, I’ve tried everything but he just won’t talk… I don’t know how!” Eleanor would lean forward to look at the man, grabbing him by the face and forcing his head to move. After a few seconds of examination, she’d let out an amused laugh. “Hm. Impressive, Kigurashi. I wonder if your friends could survive the same torment?” The man on the chair would lurch forward, attempting to punch the women only to collapse to the floor still tied to the chair. Eleanor would direct one of the masked figures to pick up the man so he could face her. “Omiskana Hospital was where they were admitted after I graciously spared their lives. If you continue being such a rude guest, I may have to pay them a visit. I’ll let you think about it” She’d pat him on the face before turning around. “Poppi, make sure he’s kept comfortable. I have guests to entertain” The short women would give a nod as the doors were shut.
The entrance way to Roseburn manor would be lined with people from all over the world. After the arduous and tiresome process of getting admitted in, everyone would notice the large and beautiful entry hall. The hall had been so large that it was actually converted into the main ballroom for the evening. Exotic and expensive foods and drinks dotted the room. Artifacts from all around the world were set up in glass displays, the legacies of Rex Roseburn. It would not be another 10 minutes or so until Lady Eleanor arrived, allowing time for the guests to mingle until she came to address them. Lady Arcadia Vayle Cameo Tsuyoshi Hidou Tenchi

Revenant had heard the rumors about the assault and disappearance of several people some time ago, it must have been linked to this ball. At least that was what the voice had told him... Usually when strange things like kidnappings were afoot, hollows were involved. It was his job to kill the monstrosities after all, and even his partner in crime Zena thought it would be a good idea for him to attend. Under most circumstances the man would be clad in armor ready to mow down an army of hollows, but this event required a delicate touch. Revenant showed up outside the mansion unarmored, and in Semi-formal attire. The objective would be to infiltrate the building and look for any trace of hollow activity. Under the pluses shirt would be the same mirror necklace he had been given some time ago, it would provide a line of verbal communication from himself to Zena who was watching over him in the soul society. Clutching the accessory lightly, he would explain "Zena I'm here. I can't sense any hollows in the immediate area, but I'll remain suspicious. Contact me if you have any updates, over and out..."Revenant would walk through the exceedingly quiet crowd of people until he eventually managed to enter the mansion. The place was gorgeous, but ominously quiet. Revenant would take a slight walk over to the punch table, pouring himself a glass as that voice would echo in his mind again, "So many people. Any one of them could be the hollow we seek. You had best stay on your guard Revenant..." These whispering voices were no doubt those of his blades. Holding on to his glass with an increasingly tighter grip, he would begin to survey the area. Picking out other individuals with a high level of Reiryoku would be a helpful factor in determining who was and wasn't on his side. This was under the condition hollows were at the ball of course... Estrella's process of admission into the manor of House Roseburn was swift and simple. " I am Estrella, Marquise of Gonzaga-Altamirano, and this is my friend Vayle Cameo. We're here for the ball." Who in the illustrious worldwide noble community could not recognize the heiress and sole owner of one of the wealthiest noble houses of Spain? After a brief check to see that Estrella and her friend were indeed on the list, the butlers gave her a nod and allowed the two women to pass, immediately immersing them in the wealth and vanity of the Roseburn Manor. Even the entry hall was so vast and ornate that it had been converted into the hosting place of the ball, hundreds of visitors including. Despite wielding wealth rivaling that of House Roseburn, however, Estrella did not dress in anything fancy for the evening. A simple, yet fashionable navy blue dress was her choice of clothing today. Estrella's custom-made electronic bracelet was on her wrist as it always was, ready to call out a holo-pad for any information, or to bring forth her full assortment of weaponry, on a moment's notice. The woman did not expect to make much use of it, however. Today is a day to relax! Have a drink, catch up on gossip, have a good time. Her ghost hunting hobby can wait for now. After saying hi and exchanging a few soft words with visitors passing by, Estrella picked up a glass of champagne from a nearby table and then turned towards Vayle. " You know, I was kinda surprised when you raised the idea to come here together, but it's nice to have you here with me. I gotta teach you the beauty of mortal leisure somehow, right?"

Vayle took a deep breath, waiting for Estrella to get them through the gate as she stayed quiet next to her. She'd decided to ask Estrella to the ball shortly after the announcement was made, but there were more than a couple reasons for it. even ignoring the fact that Estrella was both wealthy enough to make sense to be here, and more than capable of defending herself if things turned bad... she was also super good at talking through these sorts of things, while Vayle felt incredibly uncomfortable doing this kind of dress up and mingle with high society. the commoner in her was straight in her blood, and even as they came to sit down, and Vayle hoped to have a good time, a quiet nervousness ran through her body. It didn't help that she hadn't actually told Estrella what was going on. kind of bad of her, in retrospect. Estrella looked stunning, though. She hadn't seen anyone take that simple of a dress and make it work so damn well. As for her...: She'd chosen to wear something that'd look more in place in japan, but was still technically formal wear. She'd gotten more than a few compliments on it, but she figured it was mostly out of politeness, given she'd come along with Estrella on this one. Hopefully she at least looked respectable... As she realized Estrella was talking to her, she turned back to the woman and swallowed. She was holding off on the drinking for now, mostly because she was nervous (though her previous life had certainly given her quite the tolerance for it), and she looked to Estrella. "mortal Leisure. Right." Vayle would say with a slight smile. "I think this is the first time I've been to a place this nice. Ever." Vayle would add with a smile. "I'm certain the five clans have mansions this big, but given my pedigree or, uh, lack thereof, I doubt I'll ever see those." Vayle would add with a smile. "it's... nice, to get to see this sort of thing. even if it's just for a little while." Vayle smiled, shifting her leg slightly so that her dress continued to conceal her little secret. A kodachi, hidden on the inside of her Kimono. " Vayle, come on, ask her to take a picture of youuu! You look cuuute!" Mahoutsukai whined, but Vayle couldn't answer. or at least, that was the excuse she was going with.

After Tsuyoshi had somehow heard of that party, likely to include people who had gone missing, he felt inclined to pay a visit in the off chance he could find something.. worth his time. Besides, the guy who mentioned this in the first place said there was money to be had, and money was always good. He knew he couldn't go looking like he normally did though, and had asked around while staying far out of the reach of the law if there was anyone who could fetch him a gigai. That Vayle character had one for him, and it seemed to be a success when it came to tricking people. But, just to be sure he would try to find one that didn't exactly look like him, and unlike last time, somehow incorporated his sword. And as he wanted someone to talk to, he wanted the gigai to retain the Shinigami side of things. It was embarassing when he was told that would just mean a lifelike facemask and a disguise. When Tsuyoshi arrived, top hat on, suit on and his sword disguised as a cane with a small ornament that looked like a skull on it, it was more than easy to gain entrance. He didn't even have to mention his name. ''Say, isn't that the chick who you killed a hollow for?'' Jidai asked, sounding a bit muffled even though the voice was only heard by Tsuyoshi, who looked over and noticed Vayle. But not just Vayle, there was another woman there, a situation Tsuyoshi wasn't sure he liked. Maybe this one was a Shinigami like Vayle and was.. less inclined to share Vayle's thoughts. So he steered clear of that. ''I can find a use for this..'' He murmured as he went over to the glass cases on the side, with more than interesting knick knacks in them. His cane hit the ground as he looked at a specific one with an old looking sword in it. ''I know I don't sound like it to you, but I like you. Don't even think about trading me in.''Takano Hirai

“Quite Impressive, is it not?” A soft voice would remark behind Tsuyoshi. If the man were to turn around, he would notice a beautifully dressed woman who seemed fairly young. The dress which she wore was a dark emerald green and flowing onto the ground. The lady herself had a strange, almost unnatural beauty. As if she was ageless and perfect. She would move closer to the case to get a better look, leaning forwards slightly. “It was one of Rex’s favorite pieces. He discovered it whilst in Wales. I often asked where in Wales he obtained it from…” She’d pause before giving an almost snake like smirk. “He said he had to raid a dragon’s hoard for it. Quite the jokester he was… Such a shame that he’s left us now…” The lady would straighten up and hold out a hand for Tsuyoshi. “I am Lady Callia Morily. A close friend to both Eleanor and her father. It is a pleasure to meet you sir” The time had finally come for Eleanor to address her “guests”. Or as she preferred calling them, “Leeches”. She doubted many of the people here even cared for her father, only showing for the free food and drink. Oh but the attention they brought with them, it was utterly intoxicating. The knowledge that all these lesser cretins had to beg and barter to even set foot within this Manor… They should feel honored that she would grace them with her presence. Lady Eleanor would stride over to the top of main staircase with the grace of a feline, and an air of pure majesty. Whatever talking which had been going on slowly began to die down as each guest managed to rest their eyes upon her. Eleanor would give a charming grin and lift a wine glass. “I am so pleased that you all could make it this day. My father was a wonderful man, who impacted the very world around him in ways men only dream of. I am sure he is beaming in the afterlife, seeing all his dear friends gathered here to commemorate his memory. Please, take this time to celebrate his success in life, as he would of wished for” She’d raise her glass. “I hope your time here is as unforgettable as my father was. To Rex Roseburn” Most if not all the guests would follow suit, raising their glasses and cheering for Rex. As Eleanor descended the steps the hall would once more be filled with conversation. To Revenant, and most everyone else, one thing was clear. This place had a lot of High Reiryoku individuals. Eleanor alone had a powerful presence, which seemed almost suppressed in this situation. The only other individual of note within the Ballroom would be Lady Callia, who was currently speaking with Tsuyoshi. Tsuyoshi Hidou Lady Arcadia Vayle Cameo Tenchi

''Take her hand like a normal human, and shake it. Be the grown up boy you were meant to be.''Tsuyoshi wasn't exactly annoyed with Jidai, more like tired. He did eventually take the hand he was offered and shook it, though not before removing his hat from his head and placing it on top of the ornament on his cane, Something Jidai didn't particularly enjoy. Before shaking the hand he would also remove a single one of his white gloves, and as he then looked at her he smiled. ''It is a pleaure to meet you too.'' That small string of events went entirely unnoticed by the sword though as it basically just blurted out three words on repeat. ''Do you feel that?''But as he returned his glove he would have to fall silent as the one who made all this happen began to speak, saying the usual things like how her father was a great man, how he was unforgettable, how this was dedicated to him.. Tsuyoshi didn't really care, but as she then raised a drink he knew he would have to follow suit. But due to a lack of drink in his hand he would just raise his cane like everyone else raised their glasses, including Callia. When the moment was over though everyone seemed to go back to their original.. whatever and Tsuyoshi was allowed to focus on Callia some more, acknowledging what Jidai had said and being in awe at what he felt. It was.. uplifting in a way. ''Must have been a fun man to be around.'' He said, leaning in only slightly as he then smiled at his own words. ''Nevertheless, it is a nice sword.'' It wasn't the only thing on display there, several other things catching his eye, but there was something about this sword.. ''It is indeed a shame to see such a man go.'' He lied, since he didn't care at all. ''But, no need to mourn. Let us just enjoy the things he's done!'' ''The hell happened to you?''Vayle Cameo Lady Arcadia Tenchi Takano Hirai

Time quickly passed as Revenant carefully studied every person who walked through the door. Most of them were just common folk, some had a slight amount of spiritual power, but their capabilities seemed to be untapped. This cycle continued for some time until he eventually saw a familiar face walk through the door. Revenant would clutch his glass with a tighter grip, as he softly and angrily spoke her name "Vayle Cameo." Now what was a woman like her doing at a place like this? She didn't appear to be combat ready, or like she was searching for him. Moreover it looked as though she had brought a friend, a human with a high amount of spiritual energy... Wait, that was the same human who defeated him in combat about a month ago. Revenant would decide approaching her immediately would be a bad idea, even if they were both here, investigating a common enemy. Taking a glass of champagne, the plus would raise it as the hostess finished her speech on the passing of Rex Roseburn. "Yes, to Rex Roseburn" he would drink as the rest of the crowd did. The woman who spoke however had a strange aura about her, she no doubt had some sort of supernatural power. Was she a fullbringer? No that didn't seem right... Quincy? Possible... Revenant would then notice another power, it was lower that that of Vayle or Estrella's, but it was close. He would look across the room to see a man in extremely formal wear, classic tuxedo and top hat. It was a strangely familiar power, one he had felt before, but couldn't put his finger on it. Placing his hand on the mirror necklace, he would softly speak to Zena "It looks like this is a high profile event. Vayle is here... Not to mention several other high power individuals." Zena would respond without worry, reassuring him "If there are other Shinigami there, than that means we're in the right place. All you have to do is kill the hollow before she has a chance to purify it. My suggestion is to lie and wait." This made sense, let Vayle do the work for him. When she discovered the source of the kidnapper/hollow, he would just jump in and kill it before she was able to preform a ritual. It was a smart and sound plan, unlike most Revenant had come up with. Tsuyoshi Hidou Lady Arcadia Vayle Cameo Takano Hirai

"I figured as much," Estrella responded and faintly giggled upon hearing Vayle's statement that she had never been to a place this nice. From what she had seen of her and Takano, an another Shinigami she got to meet, they were not the type to have a lot of options for leisure, ever. The technology of Soul Society was preserved in the past and the Society itself seemed highly stratified, while leisure in the mortal realm was frowned upon. Estrella could only hope that she was not causing too many problems for Vayle by dragging her here...
"Buuut, this also means that you have all the excuse, no, a need to let yourself loose just this once, right?" the Marquise continued, while Eleanor was making her introductory speech to the ball, and then downed her glass of champagne in a single gulp. Only to notice that everyone was ready to raise their glasses to toast Eleanor's father. "Mierda, I finished my glass too soon... well..."
Raising an empty glass it is. "To Rex Roseburn!" After the peer-pressured ceremony, Estrella turned towards Vayle yet again. "So, as I was saying... anything which got your eye already in the ball? Or should I go and introduce us to someone for a start?"

Vayle gave a nervous smile as Estrellla laughed at her. "Well, at least you're something familiar to look to in a realm of un-familiar-ness." Vayle added, taking a few deep breaths as she looked around for her target. "...though I think I might be a little unfamiliar with exactly how to have fun in this sort of situation. I, uhhh..."
Vayle shrugged. "...I guess I'm not entirely sure how one lets loose at a time like this. I just haven't learned how to let loose in an... elegant fashion." Vayle said, her eyes shifting as she remembered some rather more boorish drunken parties of the kind she frequented with the other men of the seventh division. Frequently, she'd woken up after a bad fight, though she figured she'd take that over waking up with some strange person in her bed. "Iiiick!" Mahoutsukai shuddered.
The time to toast Eleanor came soon, however, and Vayle toasted with a smile that hid her worry. Toasting to Rex Roseburn with a nervous smile, Vayle turned around to Estrella, her first thoughts being to tell her of the high reiryoku emanating from the lady Roseburn.
This was completely cut off by Estrella's next proclamation. "W-what? No! I mean..." Vayle would take a deep breath as her cheeks rolled into a faint pink. "...I don't think that'd be the smartest idea for me to look for at some high class party. I don't have the status, kinda have a whole secret life to hide, and..."
Vayle would look completely away from Estrella before she continued. "...Let's be honest, I doubt anyone's eyes are gonna be on me when I'm standing next to you."
And with that statement, Vayle would finish the rest of her wine in one smooth gulp.
