Takano sat on the roof of a small shop, boredly observing his surroundings. Currently he was in his Gigai, so anyone living or dead could spot him. It was simply just a part of the assignment, people who were saved by a visible force led to less questions, and the ones which were asked could easily be given fabrications. He would reach into his suit’s pocket and remove a packet of cigarettes, popping one out by tapping it on the roof. As he popped it in his mouth, Chiyu would chime in. The Zanpakuto seemed desperate to get him to stop smoking for some reason. It didn’t make much sense to him, unlike the mortals below he wouldn’t receive any of the major health issues that came with smoking. “Taki… You know what Reika said about smoking in your Gigai…” She’d say meekly. “Alright. Guess that means I should leave my gigai eh?” “But the mission says we have to stay in the gigai…” “Oh gee, guess I’m gonna have to disappoint Reika then” He’d state smugly, lighting the cigarette with his lucky lighter. As he exhaled, he could feel something strange on the horizon. Not the ‘Oh no I have a bunch of cancerous gases in my lungs’ kind of feeling he normally got whilst smoking either. It was a Reiatsu, fairly similar to his. Another Shinigami? That didn’t make any sense. Takano was supposed to be the only one assigned to this area right now. The Hollow they were studying wasn’t dangerous enough to require anymore resource allocation and Takano usually worked best alone. Either something had gone wrong, or this person was about to get a good chewing from their Lieutenant. The Reiatsu was getting closer by the second so there was no real reason to try following it. “Taaaki-” “I know, I know. We can both feel Reiatsu, you know?” “But what about the cigarette…”
Takano would sigh and wait for the person to arrive. Word Count: 329

Another day in the living world, and quite a few new targets to reduce to a mere heap of ‘here lay hollow number 5’. He enjoyed these days, and it seemed his sword did too, though their motivations for it were similar, but different. On more than one occassion the sword had been talking to Tsuyoshi as if he were a mere parasite, a host for the power of the blade. ’'So when are you going to kill someone?’' Jidai asked. The motivation of the sword was simple; to fill it’s singular wide groove with blood. For Tsuyoshi it was different, and while he had no qualms with killing indiscriminately, it was a thing he needed to do to build his strength for an inevitable run in with the shinigami that hunted him, not knowing that he wasn’t being hunted and it was just an idea planted there by his sword. He couldn’t feel Reiatsu though, and that made it difficult for him to find enemies, though not impossible. Sometimes looking around did the trick just right enough. ‘'When we find someone.’' Tsuyoshi mentioned to his sword. ‘'And even then it is iffy, we’ll need to wait and see if this thing we find, if we find someone, can do something for us.’' ’'Like leading us to more kills! I like your style! Don’t like not killing anything, but hey, your idea is not the wors- hey, look there!’' Without knowing what direction to look in Tsuyoshi instantly noted something or someone sitting on top of a building. ’'Think it’s one of those soul reapers who want you dead?’' Jidai mentioned just to get Tsuyoshi to do something, like jumping over to the building to land in front of the person who was just sitting there. ‘'Glad I found you before you found me.’' Tsuyoshi said, his sword already trembling. ‘'you’re a shinigami, are you not?’' Takano Hirai |

It would seem that Takano’s senses were right. After a few minutes, a strange looking figure in black robes came bolting by, only to pause and look back at him. Did he happen to finally notice Takano’s reiatsu? In any case, the figure was beginning to head towards him now. There was something off about the figure’s reiatsu, something bloodthirsty. It reminded him of all those 11th Division dolts, hopefully this guy didn’t have as much of a murder boner. Takano would make no movements as the person reached him, addressing him as a shinigami. He’d look up and give a tired smirk. “Is it that obvious? I even wore my Gigai and everything. Hm” Takano would blow out a puff of smoke to his side before tossing the cigarette. “Yeah, I’m a Shinigami. I’d say you were too given the get up and reiatsu, but something tells me you’d already know who I am if you were” He’d remove his cigarette pack and pop out another, lighting it up and pointing to the figure. “So, what does that make you then? A roaming plus? An Arrancar maybe? Or…” He’d blow out another puff of smoke. “...A Renegade? Not that I really care if you are. So long as you leave me to my research we shouldn’t have any issues” Takano would glance to the person’s Zanpakuto, which seemed to be trembling. “You might want to turn your Zanpakuto off vibrate, by the way” “Taki, I don’t like him…” Chiyu whined like a small child. “I think his Zanpakuto wants to call me mean names…”
Whatever this person was here for wasn’t really Takano’s issue. If he was a wanted criminal, then they’d send the proper force to take him down. If not, there wouldn’t be a problem. Takano was far too busy with Hollow watching to care about some dark and brooding shinigami wannabe. Word Count: 315 Tsuyoshi Hidou

As soon as the man uttered the word renegade there was a flinch. Barely noticeable, but it was there for anyone to see. But it also seemed that the man before him did not have any intentions of bringing him in, or giving him up to his superiors, it seemed. That was a good thing, though Jidai did not exactly agree with the thought process of his owner. ’'We should make the first move.’' He said. ’'Forget the whole ‘let him lead us to other kills’, and let’s just end him before he can end you.’' That last part irked Tsuyoshi, but it was true no matter how much he would want to fight it. He could be killed, his sword, not so much. When the guy mentioned taking it off of vibrate he smirked though. ‘'Not much I can do about that.’' He replied. ‘'My sword has a will of its own, as I’m sure yours does too.’' Tsuyoshi moved closer to the man, smiled and then held out his hand. ‘'I’m Tsuyoshi.’' He said as he waited for his hand to be shaken. ‘'You’re right about the renegade part.’' ’'You moron! Why’d you tell him?!’' ‘'I have a feeling you won’t be turning me in, am I right?’' Takano Hirai |

A verbal admittance to his less than legal activities was unnecessary. Takano had a knack for noticing small things and over analyzing everyone. An annoyance to many, but invaluable when healing. Many fighters were far too stubborn to admit injuries, so Takano had to rely on his own senses when dealing with them. Even so, it was nice to have confirmation to his hypothesis. The man seemed calm enough, even willing to grant him a handshake. Takano would oblige, though his grip would not be nearly as strong as the other man’s. Takano would tilt his head and light another cigarette up, sighing as he looked back out at the cityscape. Tsu “Why would I turn ya in? My job is to research Hollow-Human interactions and save the lives of any humans who get injured. I don’t get paid enough for police work too. Though that doesn’t mean others won’t try. I’ve heard rumor of some blood crazed idiot ( Tenchi) running around killing Hollows…” He’d glance at Tsuyoshi. “...But they said he was wearing some kind of armor. Must be a real sissy if he needs armor to fight hollows… The name is Takano, by the way-” “Taki, I think I see it…” Takano would hop up off the roof, throwing the cigarette to his side and immediately glancing to where Chiyu was “pointing”. Sure enough, there it was. The Hollow seemed to have a shark shaped body with a sort of angler fish mask, glowing lure included. Takano would hop a couple buildings forward to get a closer look, keeping a low profile and completely ignoring Tsuyoshi. There was always something which caught his attention about Hollows, perhaps their potential power or sheer ruthlessness, but they had always fascinated him. It didn’t seem like it was hunting any human in particular which was good. He might even get to see a Garganta… Tsuyoshi Hidou

Tsuyoshi had gotten told he would indeed not be turned in, because this guy, Takano as he introduced himself, was more of a scientist. Or so he said. Human-hollow things, which seemed odd to the rogue at first, since, didn’t hollows just eat people, or kill? Play with them before doing so? It all seemed pretty straight forward. ’'Yooo.’' Jidai chimed in as Tsuyoshi listened to Takano. ’'This guy can show us to some hollows then. And given he is more of a researcher than anything else, might need someone to fight the hollows he meets!’' Overall, it wasn’t a bad idea to try and see if Takano needed anyone for his ‘studies’ like Jidai had mentioned, but before he could even try the man, he seemed to have taken note of something. Tsuyoshi looked up the moment the researcher jumped down, and found a hollow was the target. He found himself alone quick enough though, and was being ignored by this guy, which was something new entirely. ’'I’d follow him. You might find something worth making bleed.’' Jidai urged, and as such Tsuyoshi jumped down, following Takano at a safe distance to see what he was going to do. ‘'Getting close to hollows I see.’' Tsuyoshi said from a distance. Loud enough for Takano to hear as he looked over to the being. Shark body, angler fish-like thing. Almost like it was crying out to die. Or be killed. ‘'What exactly are you doing with them if you’re not killing them?’' He asked. ‘'And if you’re not gonna, can I?’' Takano Hirai |

Takano glanced behind him as Tsuyoshi asked him a couple of questions, the last he really wished he could ignore. Why was he observing the Hollows? Well, personally it was just genuine interest in hollows. The power they wield is so alien to anything he had seen before. Plus the masks looked really cool. Takano would return his attention back to the hollow before beckoning Tsuyoshi over closer.
“Currently I’m not doing anything with them. My job is to observe specific and special hollows. Sort of see how they function. Recently the research department has gotten interested in Hollow evolution and power. A lot of the more recent ones are beginning to show signs of increased power, whilst others are showing extremely unique mutations. We’ve even theorized that Menos Grande formations are beginning to shrink slightly because of how unique these guys are. By studying them we may learn more about Hollow physiology and perhaps better ways to combat them” He’d lean forward a bit as the lure on the Hollow’s head started to glow a light blue. “Plus, they’re great creatures to follow if you want to find High Spec Humans…”
A young girl would turn out of an alleyway, walking down the street with glazed look in her eyes. It seemed like she was heading towards the hollow… “Interesting, it seems the Hollow has the ability to lure those with high Reiryoku via manipulating their Reishi and inducing hallucinations…” As soon as she got close, the Anglerfish hollow would lash out and slash at her, knocking her back and seemingly out of her trance. “Shit, this isn’t good” Takano would turn to Tsuyoshi. “You want to kill it? As much as it pains me to say, now is the time!”
Takano would pop a Konpaku and hop down to the girl and hollow. “Bakudo-39, Enkosen!” Takano shouted, forming a light yellow shield over the attacked girl. Quickly he would slide down and scoop her up, running quickly as to avoid the hollow’s next strike. As he ran, he would hold a hand over the girl’s wound and slowly heal it. “You’re a renegade Shinigami, right?!” Takano would shout at Tsuyoshi. “If you know Konso, use it! If not, distract it while I heal her!”

''Man is he boring.'' Jidai said, a welcome distraction from the things Takano had said, and for once Tsuyoshi agreed with his sword. ''Observing and not killing them? Couldn't we just kill this guy and then also kill the hollow?'' He asked, actually making Tsuyoshi think on doing so just to make the boredom stop. ''We should totally do that! Kill both of them I mean. Maybe take his sword. You could use the help and I could use the friend!''
The words were foreign as Tsuyoshi looked at his sword briefly, not having thought it did anything with friends other than pine to kill them. Though maybe that was exactly its intention, wanting to see if he could kill a sword.
Suddenly things were happening as the hollow attacked someone, actually having used the thing on its head as a lure. ''Oh dude that's so fun!'' Jidai remarked as Takano slid down to help the girl that was attacked, while he asked Tsuyoshi if he knew that konso thing that Shinigami did.
''I hate magic.'' He said as an answer as he slid down the same building, though he used Jidai to slow his decent a bit as to sharpen the blade that actually never dulled. ''Shi-'' ''Oh shit, are we going to open as strong as ever?'' ''-Jidai!'' Tsuyoshi uttered as he had grabbed his Zanpakuto with both hands and slashed a single time, but appearring to slash through even the air itself, severing the lure on the head of the hollow and only really succeeding in making it focus on the rogue.
''Oh boy oh boy! This guy is strong!'' Jidai said, trembling in response.

It would seem Tsuyoshi was more than happy to help, good, Takano would need to focus all his attention on the human. Just to be safe, Takano would hop into a dark alleyway which provided a decent bit of cover. If this Hollow happened to be stronger than expected, Takano sure as hell wouldn’t be able to take it on, at least not with an injured human. Speaking of the human, Takano sat the girl down on the concrete floor, examining the wounds. It appeared that her shoulder had taken the brunt of the damage, much of her shirt getting torn in the process. The girl was pale and breathing heavily. The Hollow acid seemed to be acting fast, Takano would have to act faster… “Chiyu, you think you can handle the acid?” “Probably…” “Alright. I’ll focus on the wound itself. Hopefully this one won’t sock me in the face like last time” Takano would hold his hands over the girls wound and emit a green Kaido spell. Following suit, a light golden aura would flow from Chiyu and to the girl’s wound as well. It would take a few minutes to fully heal her, hopefully Tsuyoshi’s Zanpakuto wasn’t all talk. “What can you tell me about her, Chiyu?” “She’s not human…” Takano paused. “Then what is she?” “Another soul eater…”
“Well, she’s either the prettiest Hollow I’ve ever seen, or we just found a bount. Does she seem like a baddie?” “She’s too scared of everything to do anything bad…” Takano would glance behind him, making sure the Hollow hadn’t found them. It seemed both the hollow and Tsuyoshi still retained their average reiryoku levels. "Alright, lets just hope she doesn't get violent when scared" Tsuyoshi Hidou

''Man, this is some training.'' Tsuyoshi grinned widely as he blocked the jaws of the hollow in front of him with his sword while Tatano did that stupid magic thing with that woman. ''Can we kill them after?'' Jidai asked even as he was filling to mouth of the hollow currently, and the hollow didn't quite seem to care about getting his jaws sliced wide open since the teeth came even closer and closer to Tsuyoshi, and that was something that surprised him. Though that surprise was lifted when a fist crashed into him and he fell backwards quite harshly due to his sword being stuck in the mouth of the hollow like a toothpick. Not hearing Jidai anymore all of a sudden was no great loss, but to say he posed any threat without his sword would be closer to a lie than the truth. He had never really trained in hand to hand combat, and when he had he had wanted to get it over with as soon as possible. He quickly found that the hollow had reeled back a bit, and the rogue readied up in response to block a hit to the best of his ability. But there was no hit. The hollow made some gargling sounds and somehow was able to swallow Jidai whole. ''Yo, scientist guy.'' He called over Takano, not really caring about the girl he was tending to. ''Is this something I should be concerned about?'' Takano Hirai |
