Vayle checked her phone with an annoyed look, as the second hollow sighting she had today vanished. "...Is this phone broken, or something?" Vayle asked. she was on short-term loan to the small town of New Vale in order to deal with an increasing hollow threat, though at the moment it looked like it might be long-term with the amount of hollows popping up all the time here. "Until the hollow threats decrease" was something of a life sentence for Shinigami at times - and Shinigami lead very long lives. Vayle wasn't worried about that at this moment, though. what she was worried about was the number of hollow sightings that would just vanish off of her phone readings for the last couple days. this could mean a couple things - 1: her phone was broken, which was very possible with how sloppy the tech boys were with more common gizmos sometimes. Ask them to move a mountain and they'd figure out how to do it perfectly, but a simple cell tracker? nahhhh! That one was unlikely though - not just due to faith in the tech division, but due to the fact she'd been occasionally feeling that reishi vanish. Still, it'd be easier than option 2: Someone else was dealing with them. That 'someone else' could be anyone, and as Vayle popped around a corner to see a vanishing hollow, her heart skipped at just how 'anyone' it might be. This could be anything from a menos hiding it's presence, to a lost quincy from the Vandenreich, to... A pretty girl holding a pair of pistols that were clearly not a fullbring... Well. okay then. This has been a productive night - and the most shocking part was that Estrella had not even initially planned for it to go down that way. She arrived to the town of New Vale as a stop for the night before embarking for the nearest city with the first bus, and yet had to be woken up by several of the damn ghosts showing up around her hotel and causing a ruckus.
So there she went again, and while the sleepy hotel owner watched with confusion as one of his customers suddenly rushed out to the night shooting at thin air, Estrella blew holes through ghost after ghost after ghost. God, they're stubborn, aren't they? They've been a near constant presence in Estrella's life ever since she set out to travel across the world to test the power of her inventions, as if something about her attracted them to her. Not that she had any clue on what that possibly could have been.
Unleashing several rounds from her Red Rose, Estrella watched the last of the bastards vanish into the darkness, her face striking a faint snicker before a voice suddenly called out to her.
What she saw before her was a person who looked human much like her, but a few few things immediately set the young inventor off. First, much like with all other ghosts she stumbled upon during her career, her GUI was not picking up anything from the mysterious woman, as if she wasn't there at all... and then she asked whether Estrella was able to see her. Right. For some reason or another, Estrella was born with the peculiar ability to see ghosts such as these - and if this person asked about it this directly, this must be a ghost too.
She's got a few more minutes before she has to return to her hotel room.
"I see..." Estrella muttered, pulling out emptied coilgun cartridges from both of her handguns and pushing in new ones. "You must be the leader of these ghosts, then."
Without any further warning, Estrella suddenly unloaded both of her pistols straight at the mysterious woman.

Vayle blinked as the girl explained herself. "No, actually, I'm a shinigami - a death god. It's our job to-what are you doing?" The girl's answer was a ton of hot lead poured Vayle's way, and the Shinigami was forced on the defensive as the girl unloaded her pistols. Vayle had enough passing curiosity to know that this was not the normal number of bullets a pistol burst should be applying, and she dodged through a bit of the initial volley while she drew Kodachi. "Dazzle, Mahoutsukai!" Immediately, her blade changed into it's more familiar form - a Reactor and a broom. "She's hittin' hard. what do I do?" Vayle asked with sweat rolling down her face. "Hit her harder!" "that's not diploma-" "Jesus christ Vayle she's trying to turn you into swiss cheese get out the laser!" Vayle brought out the miniature reactor and pointed it forward, grunting as a couple bullets hit her. "Love sign! Master spark!" A rainbow-colored beam the breadth of a bus ripped through the remaining bullets and cut through the air and back to their source with a wide crash. "Sorry about this!" Vayle called from behind the beam, attaching the miniature furnace to the back of the broom. "But if you keep this up I'm afraid I'm going to have to use some very strong non-lethal force on ya!" And with that, Vayle activated the furnace and attempted to slam her broom directly into the girl, with a barrage of kido-based exploding stars trailing behind her. 252 words Lady ArcadiaBATTLE TRACKERSUMMARY

"What?!"
This ghost seemed different from the others. Faced with a barrage of bullets, she started dodging them while drawing a weapon which, oddly, seemed like a broom. And then, apparently, started talking with it, asking it for help. Estrella did not pay much attention to what's going on out there, trying to keep up the pressure with her dual Rose Pistols, only to suddenly be forced to cross her arms and back off when the mysterious ghost woman deflected some of her bullets right back at her.
Thankfully, all they did was bounce off the Ghostbuster suit and leave dents, as well as itchy, painful concussions underneath. But hey, that beats getting turned to Swiss cheese. While Estrella was busy assessing the damage on her, however, the mysterious woman took charge, aiming to strike her with the broom in what seemed like something ripped straight out of a video game. Or a cartoon.
"Eep!" Estrella exclaimed, her hand immediately raising a holographic console from her left wrist and pressing one of the "buttons". Suddenly, an instant before the woman's broom came down on her, Estrella vanished, popping back into existence a few meters away, with an expression which betrayed that even she was shocked at how it worked.
"Well isn't that quite encapsulating, betting my life on a gadget I had never gotten to test before..." she muttered underneath her breath, popping out the emptied cartridges from both of her pistols and swiftly pushing in new ones. "Well then, if you're going to switch to non-lethal here, I suppose we know who holds the advantage, right?"
With that thought said, Estrella took aim and released a second vast spray of coilgun bullets towards her opponent.

Vayle was caught off-guard by the human still being in fighting capacity. For a human, even a suited up human, she was taking the hits pretty well. what more, she fired off another bunch of bullets that smashed into Vayle and left her groaning. The assault sent her end-from-end slamming through the pavement until the mercy of a sacrificial street-post she smashed through cut her momentum down enough to catch herself on her feet, sliding through the cement. "The advantage?" Vayle asked with a grin. "...Maybe. It's true you've got a hell of a lot of technology on your side, human. I've met hollows with less punch than those guns. But I'm a death god. If a little thing like this was enough to make me break the rules and directly interfere in the cycle of life and death... A prismatic rainbow of colors wisped around the shinigami as she got back up, energy trailing off of her. "I'd have no business being here." And then, just as quickly as they came, they vanished. "The name's Vayle. Vayle Cameo. What's yours, human?" And like that, with a burst of shunpo to get behind Estella in a flash, she'd add. "tell me quick if you're gonna, by the way!" the Shinigami blurted out. "Love sign! Master spark!" And with the one word, another rainbow colored blast of energy would fill the street as Vayle put full force into the shot, firing off a multi-coloured blast of pure power. Estrella reloaded both of her pistols while the mysterious woman spoke up, introducing herself as a death god and stating that, despite having gotten riddled with bullets, she'd have no business here if she was truly at a disadvantage. Darn, she might be right... She's already gone through several coilgun cartridges and yet this woman just ain't budging.
This woman. What, no. Vayle Cameo. What an odd name, isn't it? Estrella did not have much of a chance to mull it over, however, as Vayle suddenly appeared behind her in a flash and released a powerful blast of energy, prompting her to react accordingly and immediately. The woman sprang up, dodging the attack at the last possible second, and landed on a nearby wall. Suction cups on the Ghostbuster suit's feet activated in an instant, allowing her to stay standing horizontally for now.
"You want to know my name? Hehe, that's the first time one of you even bothered to ask..." Estrella muttered and spun her pistols in her hands. "Estrella, Marquise of Gonzaga-Altamirano. I stand here, blasting you and your buddies, in the name of science, if you even know what that is. If you don't... well, just know that you're getting shot for something noble."
The suction cups turned off and Estrella charged forward with a jet boost from her feet, landing on the ground with a slide and releasing a final barrage of coilgun bullets at Vayle. Because if this one missed somehow... she was going to run to some real shortages soon.

Vayle struggled to keep conscious and thinking as the woman kept talking. there was no doubt the coilgun shots had done some real damage... red flowed through certain areas of her cloak, and she knew that if she'd had a merely human body she'd probably be dropped by now. this damage wasn't immediately fatal, but... Vayle Moved to dodge to the left, but the sudden shots sent her reeling backward into a nearby bus. The weapon did it's job and riddled the area with bullets, sending debris flying everywhere as the shots thudded into the larger bus. The area was covered in impact blasts and the damage was apparent. When the smoke cleared... Vayle wasn't there. "Alright, so, number one... I ain't 'one of those'." Vayle would add. "I'm one of what you'd call the good guys. Secondly..." Vayle sighed from behind Estella as she held up her reactor. "I'm impressed as hell with your tech. If I hadn't used kido to fake an early hit, and you'd noticed me running off, I wouldn't have been able to dodge Shots that fast with your level of accuracy. You've got firepower on par with a Shinigami's initial release, if not superior. By after-life standards that's pretty damn good in general." Vayle smirked as glyphs appeared from the street all around herself and Estella. "But how's your ammo count doing?" The cocky shinigami gave a grin and a wave as she looked at Estella. By the time when Estrella finished her third and likely final mass barrage, the pistols in her hands had turned so hot that she was starting to seriously feel it through her gloves. Guess making it more heat efficient was something she was going to have to work on when she gets home - the fact that she has been able to minimize a Gauss rifle to such an unprecedented scale was an achievement in of itself, but this also proved that there was room for further improvement.
And what's worse...
Vayle was still here. First, speaking about how she isn't 'one of those' - one of what? One of the ghosts? But she... she was a ghost. There was no getting around it. The second was her complimenting Estrella's weaponry, comparing it to a whole bunch of concepts which the woman had never heard of before. Until, finally, she suddenly released a barrage of lasers from multiple directions straight towards her.
Estrella's suit's internal computing took charge, suddenly leaping around all of the incoming attacks like an experienced acrobat before landing perfectly on her feet, at which point the woman started preparing for the second round of the match.
"Okay, so, first of all..." Estrella muttered while rising up her holographic wrist GUI again and pressing a few buttons. Her shoulderpads suddenly opened to reveal two machine guns which opened fire to keep Vayle busy while the woman herself shoved her weapons into pistol-shaped trays in her thighs. "What was I even supposed to glean from what you just said? An Origami's initial release? You used a kid to fake an early hit? And second..."
Estrella's suit spewed her pistols out, the built up heat from their coilguns worn off and collected in the suit's reactor. "I've still got enough ammo to take you out three more times."

Vayle grins at the statement. Despite herself, she was getting pretty damn into this as the girl opted to blast her full force. The cocky spirit took this opportunity to show off, using shunpo to dodge past the attacks while striking a few different poses. "You really don't know what a shinigami is, huh? It means Death god.
