The scent of barbecued chicken filled the air, cheerful shouts from adults and children alike nearly deafening Oliver. The local city had decided to hold one of their Holy Festivals earlier than usual. It was just his luck that a Hollow had been spotted a mere mile outside of the city. If he wasn’t careful, if he didn’t focus, then this festival could turn into a bloodbath… Ah, who was he kidding? One Hollow? That was nothing to a Quincy. In fact, he was a bit angered that they sent someone with skill like his to deal with such a minor issue. Once more his father seemed to underestimate how much he had grown in power. How many minor missions would it take until he actually got an important assignment? The young man tapped his foot impatiently as he waited in line for his drink. Something told Oliver he’d be stuck here all night waiting for that damn hollow to show itself. Might as well enjoy his wait. Besides, one drink wouldn’t hurt him. Finally the man running the stand handed him his drink. Oliver turned to his right and entered through the large crowd, eventually finding his way to a park bench. The greatest benefit of Oliver’s bloodline was that he didn’t have to wear any sort of flashy quincy uniform on missions. He was able to blend in perfectly with the average crowd. The only thing that might draw attention to him would be his Reiryoku. Not that he couldn’t handle a curious shinigami or some other being. Oliver took a sip of his drink and focused his mind, trying to discern if the hollow was nearby. Karl FrostOOC: Forgot to post with my Oliver Profile, I shall remedy that next post

Ah, the carnival. Karl hasn't been to one in many years. Maybe even decades, but when he heard one was happening not far away from his house. Karl figured he might as well go out and see what they have to offer and so far Karl wàs impress with the rides and food they had here. Karl came to the event dressed in an all black suit and tie and got weird looks for doing so. The atmosphere of the place was noisy, almost to the point of booming but it was the good kind of booming. One filled with the laughter of children or the giggles of young couples walking hand in hand. Playful kids ran around the place while their parents tried they're best to keep up with them. Concession stand owners calling out to the denizens walking by, in an attempt to lure them to their shop with hopes of a prize.
There were lots of smiles and fun to be had at the carnival. After getting on a couple of rides and buying some barbecue chicken and a funnel cake for his doll to eat later. Karl walked over to a nearby park bench to rest for a bit. As he approached the park bench he begins to sense the reiryoku of the man sitting there and immediately started to panic for a brief moment. Because if Karl could sense the man's energy than that mean other spiritually aware beings can also sense his energy too. Creatures like hollows or Arrancar or even other bounts like himself could have picked up on the man's spiritual signature and try to attack him. Now Karl may not have cared that much for the man's life, but he did care about the innocent lives of the people who might be put in jeopardy if a hollow showed up or if a fight broke out. Karl tried his best to suppress his reisatu as he approached the man." Hey there, are you enjoying the carnival?" Karl asked the man.

Oliver had sat back to enjoy his drink, contemplating on a few things as he kept a loose sense of the surrounding Reiryoku. Much had changed since his brother’s untimely demise. Normally Oliver would have been in combat training or dealing with minor issues, but without his brother to take on the tougher missions, he had no choice but to step up. This didn’t bother Oliver in the slightest, in fact he was more than ecstatic at the change. He had been anxious to get real action, to show his father that he was a true quincy. Oliver took a sip of his beverage before pausing, noticing a strange Reiryoku approaching. Quickly he’d place a hand in his pocket and grasp at his Cross The Reiryoku belonged to a younger man with a stern expression and blond hair. He was over dressed for the occasion but seemed not to care. Maybe he wasn’t dressed up for the festival. The man asked if Oliver was enjoying the festival to which Oliver responded with a sip of his drink. “I’ve never been a big fan of dealing with crowds. They usually just get in my way” He’d slightly tighten the grip on his cross, instinctively preparing for a fight to ensue. “I am Oliver Bardon Javier, or just Oliver. You are?” Oliver made no move to shake the man’s hand, barely even sparring him a glance. Karl Frost

The men postured was too relaxed as Karl approached him. If he couldn't control his reiryoko he hid the fact well. Usually, people who don't know how to control their power would be in a sad state of affairs. At less in Karl experience that happened to be the case. This man, however, did not come off to Karl like that. In fact, he seemed calmer than most of the people Karl had met at the Carnival. Meaning the man probably knew how to use his powers and never learn how to suppress his retasu or perhaps he knows how to do so and just didn't care if a hollow showed up to his location and attack him. Both of these scenarios brought Karl no peace of mind. After taking a swig from his bottle the man introduced himself as Oliver and explained to Karl how he didn't like crowded places. Karl could relate to this sentiment to some degree, but the bount also felt that no one should be alone. Especially one who is discharging out reiryoko near a festival with humans nearby.
Ignoring the obvious cold shoulder he was receiving from Oliver. Karl smiled cordially and replied."My name is Karl Frost." He then gestured toward the man's bench and asked."Mind if I sit with you?" Without waiting for Oliver to respond Karl just took the seat next to him. As he sat down, Karl let out a sigh of relief, as if he had done a lot of walking around beforehand. He then crossed his legs and put his bag of food on the ground next to him before joining his hands together in his lap. His gaze remained fixed on the carnival as he sat down. Particularly the people at the event. He could make out families and friends down there getting on rides and trying to win prizes at the concessions stands."So why did you come to the festival if you don't like huge crowds? Also, can you tone down on the reiryoko you let steeping out? You might summon a hollow or something worse."

The man introduced himself as Karl Frost before taking a seat next to him. “Why’d you ask if you weren’t going to wait for an answer?” Oliver asked as he checked his watch. Then, without any real provocation or reason, the man decided to berate Oliver on his Reiryoku. So, this “Karl Frost” could sense him. A lot of High Spec humans couldn’t do that, that left only a few other races he could think of. The man didn’t strike him as a Shinigami, maybe a Fullbringer or Bount. Both were disgusting monstrosities, but he’d rather take a Bount than a Fullbringer. At least they weren’t part Hollow. Oliver leaned back and took another drink. “The reason why I’m here is the same reason why I haven’t suppressed my Reiryoku. There’s a Hollow that's been wandering the area. I’m going to find it and kill it. I was feeling a bit tired, so I decided to try getting it to come to me. But…” Oliver reached into his pocket and produced a small silver coin, flipping it in his fingers. “This is what we call ‘Scatter Bait’, it released a higher than average Reiryoku which Hollows find irresistible. If the Hollow I’m hunting doesn’t show up for me, It’ll certainly show for this” He’d close his hand around the coin. “You seem like an interesting fellow, so I’m going to ask you this once. You don’t answer me or try something else and I crush the coin. All of our Reiryokus combined are more than enough to attract an untold number of Hollows. Or maybe just a really big one” Oliver looked to Karl with a smug sneer. “What are you and why are you here?” Karl Frost

Karl let out a soft chuckle when Oliver inquire about the point of asking him 'what's the point of asking to sit next to him if he was just going to sit anyway'. Karl almost quipped a smart remark to his question but decided not to. After Karl had finished speaking about Oliver's reiryoku there was a brief moment of awkwardness from the two men before Oliver begin to speak. As the man spoke the bount keep his eye on the festival but still paid attention to what Oliver was saying.
Apparently, Oliver had come to the festival looking for a hollow. A human tracking down a monster in order to kill it. Karl thought. Perhaps, Oliver was the sort of person who was looking for vengeance against this creature. He wouldn't be the first Human to do so, but such a life, driven by such animosity often lead men down a darker path from where they had started and in Karl's opinion it's a waste of a life. The bount could recall many humans who have pursued him throughout his long life attempting to exact their vengeance upon him. All of them had failed, of course, however, what they have failed to realize in this endeavor was how much time they have wasted on this pointless goal. Karl hoped Oliver story wouldn't be like theirs.
That was when Oliver produced a silver coin from out of his pocket and for the first time, the bount gaze finally broke away from the event in front of them and he began to stare directly at the coin without blinking. Before Oliver could explain what the coin was used for, Karl could sense traces of Reiryoku residing in the coin. Delicious Reiryoku at that. Being so close to coin made Karl hungry for a brief moment as the bount licked his lips and small smirk cross Karl's lips.
That was until Oliver explained to Karl the function of the coin and how it can be used to summon hundreds of hollows. At that moment Karl's eyes went wide with fear. The bount quickly took a glance over at the festival and then back at Oliver. The smirk now wiped from his face him. In his mind, Karl ran scenarios about the severity of this matter. How much of this scatter bait was true and would Oliver use it? Could Karl try to take the bait from him before Oliver could use it? Or perhaps the bount can talk the human out of using it? All of these questions and many more raced around Karl's mind, but at the end of it all, Karl was unable to take any of the risks that went with the possibility of getting that coin away from Oliver.
Reluctantly Karl begins to speak."My name is Karl frost and I'm a bounto."Karl kept it nice and simple because he didn't want to make things more complicated than it has to be. Karl then went silent for a moment or two and before asking."Now, since that's out of the way. How about you put away that bait?"

Oliver’s intuition was correct after all. The man had revealed himself to be a bount, certainly not as bad as a Fullbringer, but little more than a Human shaped Hollow with self control. The fact they were so rare, mostly harmless, and relatively unknown was the main reason Quincies had never sought to purge them. That and the fact their existence was unknown to most everyone. But Oliver did his research, read from the journals of many great Quincies including the Half-Blood Heir. More of Soul Society’s twisted and failed experiments. Nothing good ever seemed to come out of that damnable place. Oliver leaned back, not pocketing the coin. “You aren’t the best negotiations, are you? If I were to put this away what would stop you from attacking me? Obviously you haven’t run, so you’re staying here for a reason. What exactly is that reason? Suddenly feeling the urge to protect your food source?” Oliver set his drink down and reached into his pocket, producing his Cross. “I should probably kill you, but I’ve got more important things to do. So I’ll let you off with a warning. Stay the hell out of this city. Go hide in some cave in the wilderness, far away from civilization. Because If I find anything that would lead me to believe you got a bit peckish, I’m going to hunt you down and end you” Oliver stood and started to make his way back towards the festival. He felt something incoming, most likely due to the two high reiryokus. If he reached the festival in time, he could meet the hollow half way. Karl Frost

When Oliver produced his Quincy's cross and showed it to Karl. The bount's jaw tightened and his face darkens as his eyes narrowed at the small item. He's a Quincy. Karl thought, as his muscles tensed up. Throughout his long life, Karl had fought his fair share of Qunicies. He respected their order for the work they did and he had fought them enough times to be wary of their prowess in combat and their affinity to hunt down supernatural monstrosities that plagued mankind. Oliver, however, seems to be the farthest thing from this preeminent group of hunters.
Karl remained silent throughout Oliver rant about killing him and never wanting to see Karl's face anywhere near a human settlement ever again. Karl in return just looked at Oliver in disbelief. The audacity of this man to threaten him, after Karl had done nothing wrong annoyed him. The bount came here today, to enjoy the festival. He didn't make any attempts to eat any souls nor was he planning on doing so today. Oliver, on the other hand, was putting countless lives in jeopardy, by knowingly releasing his reiryoku in the surrounding area. Which could have prompt other dangerous entities to attack him. Not just the hollow he was tracking but other beings such as bounts, Arrancar, or even high spec humans who might want to test their skill against the quincy. Not to mention Oliver had also brought scattered bait with him. Something that dangerous should be the farthest thing from a populated city. But no the greatest threat to the city wasn't Oliver it was Karl.
After Oliver had walked away from the bench. Karl remained seated and muttered out some obscene reference in german about the man. Though the prospect of leaving these people safety in the hands of Oliver did make Karl feel uneasy, the bount options at this point were pretty limited. Even though, Karl felt as though Oliver was too preoccupied with his hunt instead of collateral damage. With this kind of thinking, Karl believed can be dangerous to those at the festival, however, staying here could also be problematic. Because if Karl does decide to stay then there could be a chance the two men might fight each other. While Karl ponders this the bount felt a shift in the air. The air around the festival became heavier and much more sinister as the hairs on the back of Karl's neck. The hollow was coming soon and Karl had to make a decision quick. After a few more minutes had passed, Karl finally got up and grabbed his bag of food, before proceeding to the festival. He decided to stay at less until the quincy finished his hunt. Afterward, he would leave the city.

This was always one of Oliver’s favorite parts of a hunt. The anticipation for combat, knowing that at any moment that Hollow could show up out of nowhere. The reiatsu which made the air heavy… It simply got his blood flowing. He was no bloodthirsty fool by any means, at least that's what he thought, but something about killing Hollows was just fun to him. Destroying such evil beings and purifying this world. It was his purpose as a Quincy afterall, something his father seemed quite apprehensive about. Oliver would continue to charge forward across the rooftops. The bustling festival below was nearly deafening and quite an effective distraction to keep prying eyes off him. As Oliver landed after a large hop, he would hear it. The screech of a Hollow. One kick glance around would show the Hollow to his right. It was decently large with a humanoid body. It’s mask was a grid which leaked smoke like a chimney. Oliver held his cross out to his side and gave a smug grin. “Traverser Armure”Blue flames erupted from the cross and slowly engulfed the quincy. After it covered him completely, the flames seemed to slowly solidify into white plates of armor. Oliver continued his charge towards the hollow, the hollowing following suit. Before making contact with the Hollow, Oliver would jump into the air and draw back on his bow. The arrow impacting the Hollow was powerful enough to split the building below them in half, but not strong enough to stop the Hollow. It jumped up and picked Oliver out of the air like it was picking an apple. Quickly it would drop him as it’s hand was burned from Oliver’s armor. Panicking civilians could be heard in the crumbling building below and along the streets. Karl Frost

Karl quietly followed behind Oliver but kept a good distance away from him. He did this in order not to antagonize the man any further with his presence. The bount could feel the air around the festival shift ever so slightly. Most people wouldn't have been able to recognize it at all, save for those who were spiritually strong enough to feel such a disturbance. He could feel the air around the festival has gotten albeit heavier than before as well as albeit fouler since he was previously here. The hollow was near. Of that Karl was sure of. He only prayed that Oliver could quickly dispatch the monster quickly before any civilians could be hurt during the battle. If not that, then Karl hoped Oliver would have the insight to guide the hollow away from the festival in order to avoid panic. Karl paused as he saw the quincy leap into the air and landing gracefully on the roof of an apartment complex.
Within a couple of seconds, Karl knew his prayers went unanswered when heard the familiar screeching of a hollow followed by the twinning sound of a quincy bow being released. Immediately after hearing these two things, Karl felt the ground underneath his feet shake violently as everyone around him stood still for a brief moment. The expression on the citizen's faces changed from happy go lucky to a mixture of confusion and fear as everybody stood quietly before another rumbling caused everyone to start panicking and stampeding in all directions.
Karl stood there for a few moments with his jaw wide open, as people ran around him as if the city was under attack by some foreign power and it some case it was true, but one that could have been avoided, at less he thought so. The bount was completely dumbfounded by Oliver actions. He partially expected this from the man but to actually see it happening, right in front of him caused him to raise questions about his belief in the lustrous hunters. After a few more moments had pass Karl realized the direness of the situation and dropped his bag of food and got up on a nearby the able and begin yelling at the top of his lungs to the panicked citizens. He yelled out instructions on how to leave the festival safely, but it was to no avail because everyone was in a state of panic and none would stop to listen to him. However, all was not lost yet.
Out of the corner of his eye, Karl made out two police officers slowly making they're way against the current of the crowd in an attempt to get to the epicenter they believed to be an earthquake. Seeing the officers gave Karl an ideal. He quickly jumped off the table and hastily made his way over to one of the two officers. As he proceeded over to the officer's positions the bount stumbled upon a little girl crawled into a ball. Karl assumed she must have gotten separated from her parents and picked her up and carried her over to the police officer. Once he finally reached the officers, Karl reached inside his pocket and pulled out a fake badge and quickly displayed it to one of the police officers."Deacon Frost. FBI. You need to order your men to get these civilians out of here and then lock down the area by a four-block radius." The officer he spoke to was a wiry woman with red hair and green eyes who stared blankly at him, before opening her mouth to protest."We don't have time for this." Karl cut her off. "There is a terrorist in that building. " Karl then pointed to the building where Oliver and hollow was fighting on." If we don't evacuate the area soon. All these people could die." Karl finished. The officer eyes went wide with recognition of the situation and got on her radio to relay his instruction to the surrounding units. Karl than gave the little girl over to the red-haired police officer before folding his arms into his chest and turning to face the building where Oliver and the hollow were fighting on." This guy better makes this quick or I'm going to kill him." Karl stated in Germany.
