MOTIVATIONS: All Oliver ever wished to do was impress his father and surpass his brother in both skill and admiration. Even though his brother has now passed, Oliver has continued on his mission, hoping to become so powerful that his entire family would forget about his brother.
QUIRKS: Oliver tries his best to keep a calm head, but can get easily flustered and angry if pressed. He has a horrible sense of humor and often takes jokes directed at him as insults. Despite his novice social skills, he is still quite intelligent thanks to his studious parents and their insistence on him gaining a proper education. Oliver is completely loyal to the Quincy cause, but like his family has no desire to work with the Shaffenreich, despite being offered a chance. Unlike his family, however, he bears no true ill will towards the organization, he simply thinks they’re too restrictive.
BONDS:
Father (Jean-Claude Javier): Oliver’s father was very distant to all of his siblings, something his mother always berated him for. What the man lacked in emotional bond, however, he more than made up for in training abilities. Jean had drilled all of his children to be as deadly to Hollows as they could be, but always stressed the importance of not fighting the Shinigami. Personally, he believed that attacking them was one of the greatest mistakes that the Quincies had made.
Mother (Anessa Javier): Anessa always treated Oliver and his siblings as best as she could, attempting to fill in the void that their father created. Oliver never really grew close to his mother, often distancing himself from everyone as he subconsciously adopted his father’s demeanor.
Sister (Elaine Javier): Elaine was always the most rebellious of the three siblings, often pranking everyone in the household much to her father’s chagrin. At around the age of 18, on Oliver’s 20th birthday, the girl had run away. Despite the family’s best efforts they were never able to find her again.
Brother (Balthus Javier): Balthus was always the golden child of the Javier family. First born and first to master all the skills required to be a quincy. Jean was even planning on having Balthus lead the family and enter retirement. That was until Balthus’ encounter with an extremely powerful Arrancar. The creature ended Balthus’ life quickly and without hesitation. While both of Oliver’s parents felt remorse for him, Oliver found himself more angry than sad. He had always wished to surpass his brother and obtain recognition from his father. Balthus’ death made that near impossible.
BACKSTORY:
Oliver Bardon Javier is a Quincy to the core. He was trained since the age of 5 to be a perfect
Hollow hunter along with his three siblings. There was, however, one major difference between Oliver’s family and the rest of Quincies. Oliver’s bloodline goes back hundreds of years to The First Quincy War, where they served as the Vanguard for Ywaches army. As such, they had perfected a special technique to help improve their chances of survival on the frontlines. By sacrificing some of their bow’s power, the Quincies were able to summon a suit of armor made of hardened Reishi. The Javier bloodline remains as one of the few bloodlines to practice this specialized technique, as most are not willing to sacrifice their attacking power in favor of more survivability.
Oliver remains as the only heir to the Javier family, but even so his father is hesitant of relinquishing command to his son. This has infuriated Javier to no end, driving him to work harder than ever before to gain his father’s support.
