Humans
Humans are everywhere in the Bleach universe, so it would be prudent to give players the choice of playing one. Humans can gain powers through various means, all of which are listed below.
High Spec Humans
High Spec humans are humans with an unusually high amount of Reiryoku, allowing them to see Reshi-based items or buildings and even interact with them. In even rarer cases, these High Spec Humans go on to develop special powers, such as super strength or Psychic abilities. High Spec Humans have been popping up more and more lately, and their powers are as diverse as ever.

Quincy
Quincies are humans with the ability to utilize Reshi into a weapon, usually a Bow. Unlike the Shinigami, who attempt to hunt and purify Hollow’s of their sins so they may move on, Quincy hunt down Hollows with ruthlessness. When a Quincy kills a Hollow, the soul is forever lost. The Quincy were created by King Yhwach hundreds of years ago, as a way to deal with the Hollow threat. While they were highly effective at destroying Hollows, their complete destruction of souls nearly led the world to utter annihilation. The Soul Society, after failing to reach a peaceful resolution, were forced to destroy the Quincies. Though they were on the verge of extinction for well over a hundred years or so, the Quincies have begun a reemergence from an unknown source. A Quincy has access to a vast assortment of weapons and gadgets, but their main weapon is a Quincy Cross, which is what they use to manifest their Bows, also known as a Heilig Bogen.

Fullbringers
Fullbringers are humans with an ability called a Fullbring. Within every object, whether a Chair or a Glass of water, is a soul. Fullbringers can manipulate these souls, allowing them superhuman feats, such as walking on water or moving objects. Once a Fullbringer fully realizes their powers, they gain their own unique power which is tied to an item. This item is often something that the Fullbringer is emotionally attached to, and can be almost anything. Unlike other beings of great power, Fullbringers rely on their physical bodies to use their powers, forcing them to train their Stamina, as opposed to their Reiryoku. Fullbringers are developed when a Pregnant mother is attacked by a Hollow. Part of the Hollow’s powers are left behind in the child, leading to a Fullbringer. This means that a Fullbringers abilities are closely related to a Hollow’s abilities.

Souls
Everyone dies eventually. The question is, what happens to you when you die? The fate of a soul is vast and varied, taking in numerous different factors. The races of the dead are listed below.
Plus
A Plus is to Soul Society as a Human is to the living world. They are spirits with no real affiliation. Though most lack the Reiryoku to become a Shinigami, some Pluses do have the powers to be on par, or even surpass some Shinigami. Some are even able to manifest a Zanpakuto, such as Captain Kenpachi before joining the Gotei 13. The reasons for why a Plus would decide to avoid becoming a Shinigami can be greatly varied, though usually it is either to pursue a life of crime, disagreements with how Soul Society is run, or a little of both.

Shinigami
Shinigami, or The Soul Reapers are souls of deceased humans, who possess a great Reiryoku. When a Human dies, their Chain of Fate, the connection to their bodies, is broken. The job of the Shinigami is to send the soul to its proper afterlife, Soul Society if they were good enough in life, or Hell if the opposite was true. Once in Soul Society, a Soul with a great enough Reiryoku can enter into the Spiritual Arts Academy, where they will be trained and sent to either Gotei 13 (Main Military branch of Soul Society), The Kido Corps (Specialized Kido Users), or the Onmitsukido (Stealth force of Soul Society). Shinigami of substantial power are able to manifest a part of their soul into a Zanpakuto. These are normally swords, but others types have been noted. Those who cannot manifest a Zanpakuto are provided a blade called an Asauchi Sword for protection.

Hollows
When a human dies, their soul is released from their body, and their Chain of Fate is broken. Their soul is dependant on the Shinigami to reach the otherside, without their guidance, the soul is doomed to a fate some may call worse than death. Their broken chain of fate will slowly “Corrode” away, eating itself to sustain some sense of form. Once this chain is gone, a hole where their heart originally was, creating a Hollow. Hollows are beings of pure animalistic instinct, with an endless hunger for Souls to fill it’s empty heart. They form masks, which take on traits that they had in life. The mask is formed of their lost heart, and are the main cause for their mindless instincts. If shattered, the Hollow may regain momentary humanity, only for it to be lost upon reformation. Hollows come in all shapes and sizes and the same is true for their masks, though most usually have a Black body with a white, skull-like mask.

Altered Souls
These are souls which undergo some sort of drastic alteration or transformation, causing them to no longer be a normal Soul or Hollow. Such transformations are often brought on by unnatural tampering, resulting in the races below. In order to achieve these states, a Soul Reaper, Hollow, or Plus must reach their T1 and create a Solo or normal Adventure describing their transformation. The Adventure/Solo will be reviewed by a Storyteller and given a thumbs up. You may decide to either keep your previous Racial Ability, OR choose the new one.
Visored
The Visored were originally normal Shinigami, who had some sort of Hollow fuse with their Zanpakuto spirit. As the two fuse, the boundary between Shinigami and Hollow is broken, resulting in either Soul Suicide where the soul is destroyed, or the creation of a Visored. Surviving Soul Suicide typically requires outside assistance, though a method was developed by Kisuke Urahara which can reliably save those afflicted. Once saved, the Shinigami gains the ability to form a Hollow mask, which grants them the powers of a Hollow. This is a process known as Hollowfication, and it can affect any soul aside from a Quincy. The hollowed form is extremely powerful, but limited. It requires a great deal of training to master and even so, it usually lasts for minutes at a time. Aside from Hollowfication, a Visored is basically the same person as they were before.

Arrancar
As a hollow continues to live and consume human souls, it grows more powerful. Eventually, human souls cease to satiate the Hollow, resulting in cannibalism. As the hollow consumes it’s kin, the souls of its victims begin to build up, resulting in a Menos. Menos come in three different forms, and all have the ability to become Arrancar. Though originally requiring the Hogyoku to gain their full potential, nature has finally caught up, allowing for the natural creation of an Arrancar with enough time and power. Arrancar form when a Menos removes it’s mask, granting it abilities similar to a Shinigami, including a Zanpakuto. The difference between a Shinigami Zanpakuto and a Arrancar Zanpakuto, is that a Arrancar Zanpakuto is actually a manifestation of it’s previous Hollow form.

Artificial Beings
Sometimes, normal Soul Reapers are not enough to win a battle. Long ago, Soul society attempted to create Artificial creatures in order to pad out their ranks and put them on par with the Hollow threat. Sadly, none were deemed successful, mainly due to ethical reasons. But as time went on, someone managed to leak these plans, resulting in a resurgence of these Artificial Beings.
Konpaku
Their full title is Kaizo Konpaku, but most just shorten it to Konpaku or Mod Souls. These creations are the product of Project: Spearhead, an effort by Soul Society to boost their ranks. Originally they were meant to inhabit Human Corpses, but this was deemed too unethical for various reasons. Though all were meant to be destroyed, a few did manage to survive. Through reverse engineering the method of creating Mod Souls has been rediscovered, resulting in their usage on black markets. Once a Mod soul is inserted into an object, they gain complete control of it. If they are consumed by a living human, they will expel the human’s soul from the body. Konpaku can be very powerful, but only in a singular ability, such as speed or strength.

Bounts
Bounts are the result of Soul Society’s attempts to discover eternal life. After an accident whilst mixing various Human and Shinigami Souls, the Artificial creations were broken and flung towards the World of the Living. It is here that they mixed with Souls in the process of being reborn, resulting in the birth of the first bounts. They are both powerful and Immortal, so long as they constantly consume human souls. A Bount’s main power lie with their “Doll”. Theses are similar to a Shinigami’s Zanpakuto, but with a few major differences. First off, it does not need to be a weapon. They can come in almost every shape and size, from humanoid to inanimate. Secondly, a Bount and a Doll must form a relationship found on respect and understanding. If a Doll senses that it’s master is weak or even close to death, it may end up killing them. Though there are some cases where the Bount and Doll found mutual respect with each other. Finally a Doll must be stored within a specific object when dormant, similar to a Fullbring.
