Revenant walked silently, and coldly among the streets of Japan. He was a soul, a man who once lived not too far from the street he walked. Revenant would see things in a new light however. Where he once felt home and comfort, he now felt rage. His vision was not that of a normal being's, but a constant tint of red. This rage was supernatural, something unlike any other spiritual power. It was midnight in the east, and little to no people were around. This would be the perfect time to hunt and slay hollows, their kind would use the cover of night to capitalize on the fear of humans. Even some soul reapers feared the creatures, but Revenant was no soul reaper, he sought the hollow's destruction rather than their salvation. Why were monstrous killers like them allowed to have peace in the afterlife? Why was the monster who slaughtered his family allowed to pass on without a second thought? Revenant would contemplate these thoughts as he walked, clad in a suit of armor, and loaded down with various weaponry. Would this draw people's attention? perhaps, but most humans were incapable of seeing his kind. Even if they could see him, he wouldn't care. The grim warrior would stop in the middle of the street, he would take a moment to quickly survey his surroundings. In front of him was a simple neighborhood, nothing special, but the harder he focused, the more reishi he would feel. In the distance he felt it, there was a being of immense power, this must be that of a hollow... The man would begin air walking towards the source, slowly drawing his blade... Japan, huh? What's so impressive about this country? Marquise Estrella, travelling across the streets of one of the island nation's cities, did not find much impressive in the architecture, design or the people. The mansion of Gonzaga-Altamirano was far more pristine and easier on the eye than anything this nation was able to come up with. Perhaps she could go sightsee the Imperial Palace or whatever it was called... but... her plane isn't going to wait forever and...
Is that the presence of a ghost she feels? Estrella turned around. The streets of this neighbourhood were completely empty save for a single armored man, slowly drawing his blade while walking towards her. That would be enough to strike at least a worried look on anyone's face, but Estrella opted to check a little bit further - the woman pulled over her goggles onto her eyes and activated the cybernetic HUD.
It did not register anything. Therefore, this was a yet another ghost, out here for whatever damn reason these ghosts all keep targeting her. To reap her soul or something?..
"Don't move." Estrella spoke up, suddenly aiming her Red Rose and firing two warning shots straight at the armored swordsman. "Step any closer and it's ghost busting time."

How odd, a human with high spiritual energy. She wasn't a hollow, not a vicious monster. What was strange was that she referred to him as a ghost, in a way she was correct. He wasn't a soul reaper, but he still had power in his own right. If the woman could see him, then she would also notice his large assortment of weapons. Aside from the blade in his hand, Revenant has an RPG strapped to his back, an Uzi at his left hip, and a twelve gage shotgun slung across his shoulder. Given all his armaments, he was surprised she would dare fire a shot at him, but she did none the less. The two warning shots flew across the streets, both landing, penetrating through his armor. It hurt, but his helmet would hide the pain well. "..."Though he could tell she wasn't a hollow, the woman still shot him, this deserved retribution. A red aura of rage surrounded Revenant, his anger grew as did his strength. "You strike the Revenant human!"He would land from the air, and then dash towards Estrella rearing back his great sword. Estrella's warning shots bounced off the mysterious man's armor without phasing him much - the woman expected her warning to unfold as such, ghosts like him are tough enough to endure a few bullets before vanishing and sodding off. What she did not expect, however, was him to violate the warning so bluntly, by suddenly charging straight at her and swinging his weapon in several well placed strikes.
"Eep!" Estrella exclaimed, leaping back to try to gain distance from her opponent. Her Ghostbuster suit was not suited well to close quarters combat - what it was able to do, however, was to summon a narrow phaser shield around her body, softening the incoming blows and making them only leave dents on her armor and costume. A jet burst from her feet lifted the woman up to the air to avoid the last of the incoming slashes, at which point Estrella pulled a few switches on her dual handguns to shift from slow manual fire to her usual pouring bullet hell.
"When you're scraping your ectoplasm ass off the street, remember that I gave you an out."
Pulling the trigger on her Rose pistols while still flying across the air like an acrobat, Estrella poured out a massive burst of coilgun accelerated bullets towards her armored opponent.

In truth, Revenant had hard very little about humans being able to harm the dead. The fact that her pistols had even managed to connect in the first place surprised him, what was even more shocking was the massive barrage of ammunition heading in his direction. If he wasn't wearing armor, that attack may have wounded him gravely, but he never took off his armor. The pieces of ammunition would fly at his chest and stomach, a "Ping!" sound could be heard as each impacted. When it was finally over, his armor was dented up and torn to shreds, a small amount of blood dropped from pierced parts of the suit. This only made Revenant more angry, he knew that this woman could not keep these attacks coming, she would need to reload eventually. Perhaps it was time to show her a toy of his own... Revenant would sheath his sword as she escaped his reach, and grab hold of the RPG strapped to his back. He would then kneel, lining up his shot before the sound of a roaring flame would be heard. The rocket propelled grenade flew from the end of the weapon heading directly for Estrella, meanwhile Revenant's rage would continue to grow. Having flown above her armored opponent and punched through most of his armor on the way, Estrella safely landed on her feet behind him, her back turned and hands focused with pulling out fully used up coilgun cartridges and shoving in new ones. Which is exactly when her suit's HUD informed her that a powerful heat signature was rapidly hearing her way.
Right before the rocket struck her directly, however, Estrella vanished, popping back into existence at the exact same place where she stood a second ago, a powerful explosion unfolding in front of her while the woman finished reloading. Glancing over her shoulder, Estrella offered a smirking cackle towards the armored opponent. The match was starting to get real interesting, wasn't it?.. However, the woman knew that, ultimately, she was the one in control. The ghosts were all powerful, even individually so, but they could never muster the firepower nor the smarts which she was available of. And even if she somehow managed to lose - she could improve upon her mistakes, they clearly could not. Why else would she keep witnessing these ghost encounters almost every week, even if the result was always the same?
Not offering any further warning or a cocky remark, Estrella suddenly turned around, opening fire with both of her handguns and spraying coilgun bullets straight towards her opponent.

The rocket seemed to hit the ground and caused a decent explosion, but the human dodged it? Speed like that was unheard of to him, even among the Shinigami. This meant he had a real fight on his hands, no snese in holding back now. Revenant would toss his launcher to the ground and draw the blade from his back yet again. As he did however, the clicking sound of a fresh clip would be heard and this time another hail of bullets would be sent his way, just outside of his blind spot too. The human was a cunning one, perhaps more intelligent and tactical than his raw untamed strength, but he did have one thing she didn't. Experience. Revenant would allow the bullets to rip through what little armor he had left, things were beginning to look grim. He would bolt over to her location, running on air towards her. Several slashes of his blade would be dished out, he would be determined to show off his superiority... As he did this, the dead of night would slowly drop. Lights of homes would begin to come on, people were starting to notice the fight that was going on in their streets. Estrella's barrage of coilgun bullets sent her opponent reeling back once again - however, what was a lot more worrying was the fact that, having failed to resolve the battle in time, the woman and her attacks have started to cause the neighbourhood to wake up. Windows were lighting up and a few people were starting to peek out from them to see what is going on.
"Well isn't that a bother..." Estrella muttered to herself, opening up the holographic GUI from her left wrist and pressing a few buttons - pistol-shaped holes in the armor in her thighs opened up, in which she shoved her Rose handguns, just in time for her armored opponent to charge at her yet again. Crossing her arms, Estrella blocked the first of the sword slashes with a phaser shield, while immediately backing off and starting to leap back like an acrobat to dodge his further attacks. After the showcase of reflexes, she landed on her feet a few meters away.
"Goodness gracious, you can take a lot of punishment, can't you? Everyone had to cut their beauty sleep short because of you..." she muttered. Her pistols popped out of her thighs, cooled off and reloaded for a second round of bullet hell, and Estrella was quick to deliver upon it - taking aim and releasing a yet another massive burst of coilgun-accelerated bullets.

Revenant was impressed, he had never seen such technology, those items could help in his crusade against the hollows. While this was a good idea, he had to deal with the human first. The streets starting to awaken didn't help their situation either. That was going to be it for her coilgun bullet hell barrages, then. Her Rose pistols were getting increasingly hot and her cartridges were running out - plus, now that the civilians all around were starting to wake up and see what's going on, it was getting too dangerous to use rapid fire. Who knows, maybe you'll end up hitting a child on accident. As such, while Revenant was reeling from her barrage, Estrella swiftly changed her weapons' fire mode - with the flick of a switch and connecting loose power cords straight from her suit to her pistols, she changed from coilgun fire to experimental plasma bullet fire.
Just in time for her armored opponent to charge at her yet again, slashing with his weapon several times. The downwards slash was easy to dodge by leaping backwards, but the following slashes required Estrella to pop her phaser shield yet again, blocking the other two incoming slashes. And that gadget had a shelf life of its own, she couldn't stay here blocking such powerful slashes forever, after all.
Which is why the Revenant speaking up and commenting a few things could only be welcome. Because it's a few seconds when she is not at the risk of her phaser shield suddenly malfunctioning.
"And you made me waste five hundred bullets today." Estrella shot back, spinning the pistols in her hands and backing off before suddenly firing two plasma rounds towards the armored ghost. "They're not cheap, you know. I mean... they're cheap to me. But not to someone like you."
