Takano tapped his foot as the skull head seemed to have some sort of mental crisis. Was Boner head really that effective of an insult? Well, it was better than "Popped Collar". "I don't think you have any right to critique my fashion, Boner" Takano said with a sigh before stretching. "I don't have to show you anything buddy. If I was a badass then I'd be able to show it without your help. Without the whole, ya know, edgy wearing a skull thing" Takano lazily reached for his Konpaku container and popped one in his mouth, suddenly appearing as a Shinigami as the Konpaku ran his Gigai away. Takano placed a hand on the pommel of his Zapakuto. The man seemed to think he was the one in control of this situation, but he had made one fatal mistake. He let his ruse show. Takano rolled his eyes as the man asked about the "Blanket". "It's not a blanket, it's a Cloak. That's about all I'm going to tell you" He'd look around. "You're going to put a boot up my ass? Why not have your men shoot at me? Or did my insult make them realize they're working for a B Movie super villain?" Takano moved his hand to the handle of the sword. "Or maybe they aren't actually there. Even twins don't share identical Reiryoku. Tell ya what, you backup your inflatable army, maybe change that helmet of yours, and walk away. I don't feel like having to heal you" Takano waited patiently (And very condescendingly) for the man's response. Jeremy Amari

Jeremy stepped back as Takano revealed his true power, the soldier stood before a soul reaper who had enough with the soldier’s antics. His plot was seen through, the target was even stronger than he first thought, and he was on the back foot. The human couldn’t even snap back at the shinigami’s own scolding, as it seemed his ultimatum was no idle threat. It felt like a hopeless situation He needed a third option here to get something out of this. A cunning thought popped into his head as he realized this could be turned to his advantage. Thankfully, a chance encounter might let him savage this. “Whoa whoa whoa, hey now!” Jeremy raised one hand up in surrender, the other reached for under his helmet as he removed to reveal his normal, human face. “Listen, I didn’t know you were a Soul Reaper. I’m not a bad guy, I swear. I’ve actually worked with you guys before. Do you know Vayle Cameo? Me and her cleared out a mine full of hollows not to long ago.” While he didn’t like relying on two people conveniently knowing each other, he didn’t have much else going for him. “I was just sent to pick up the cloak, I wasn’t even told what it does. There’s no need to fight on this.” Takano Hirai

A sigh escaped from Takano as he removed his hand from his Zanpakuto pommel and placed it squarely on his forehead. It seemed that Takano was all too right about the man, he wasn’t really a threat after all. He was mostly relieved, though that “boot up the ass” threat had made him want to rough the dork up a bit. No, he wasn’t some brute, no reason to attack someone who wasn’t actually putting up a fight. Even if they did threaten to do so. As for whether he was telling the truth… Well, Vayle certainly got around and if this guy was a baddie, she would of made certain he wouldn’t be walking right now. It was reasonable to assume he was being honest. “Jeez, who doesn’t Vayle know at this point? Small world I guess” Takano said with an exasperated sigh. “Don’t worry, I’m not going to attack you. Though you should probably be more careful who you threaten. Tricks work better on people who don’t have magical spirit senses” Takano glanced over in the direction where his Gigai ran off to. “Alright, if you don’t know what it does, why are you looking for it? I’m not going to tell you what it’s purpose is, but I will say it could be dangerous in the wrong hands. Especially if someone figured out how to replicate it” Takano shifted slightly, walking over to a wall and leaning against it. “Well? Come on, spit it out, I don’t have all day” He’d reach into his pocket and pull out a pack of roll cigarettes. “Oh, and my name is Takano by the way. But if you’re going to continue using an insult, please come up with something better” Jeremy Amari

Jeremy gave out a sigh of relief as he dissolved the tension, left safe for the time being from the soul reaper’s strength. The soldier was very grateful to have met Vayle at this point. It was still a very one sided confrontation, something Takano took full advantage of as he demanded questions from the human. Left unhappy by the interrogation, and forced him to hold back a frown as the soul reaper got himself comfortable with a pack of smokes, but there wasn’t much he could do to turn the situation. Better to just get out of this intact. “The name’s Jeremy, and I’ll remember that,” The soldier replied, and thought to give a few thumps to the R&D division. As to why he had to get it, what else can he give but the truth. “My superior officer told me it belonged to a friend of hers. Apparently they died recently, and she also wanted to keep it out of the wrong hands. I doubt you’d do much in the same situation.” He was worried if telling this out loud was going to go unnoticed. Granny Kiada always seemed to know what was going on. Considering her power, she might even ready to walk in at any second. It was then Taknao might feel another presence. It was brief, suddenly there and then submerged again. A trace of the signature was there, but suppressed, like a shark showing its fin for a moment before sinking back into the water. What was felt, however, was immensely powerful. “You can’t expect much else from good soldiers, Mister Hirai,” Another voice spoke from behind the shinigami, where he had seen no one but his feeling Gigia before. Blood hair curled around a beautiful face, free from blemish and with piercing, predatory eyes. “He was only doing what I told him. If there’s anyone you wish to admonish, it should be me.” Across her back seemed to be the handle for a large weapon, which when she reached back for it revealed it to be… an umbrella? That she placed on her shoulder and openned. “I’m sorry, Lady Kaida,” Jeremy apologized, giving the woman a nod. He felt ashamed that she showed up now. If he returned with nothing, it would have simply been a failure to his mission. Instead, he was being bailed out by his CO. “Oh, it’s fine. This was simply an unseen wrinkle. I think we can smooth this out easily…” She looked To Takano as she said that, her tone kindly but hid a dangerous mind. Takano Hirai

The shinigami let out a puff of smoke, taking note of his Gigai which had stuck to the rooftop above him having seen the tension die down. Takano tapped the cigarette, the ash scattering off into the wind. “Rex Roseburn had a lot of friends. That’s what happens when you’re rich and powerful…” He’d know from experience given his upbringing. Though it was hard to call them “friends”, but that was beside the point. “You seem the mercenary type, but I’m guessing that’s incorrect. Interesting armor, obviously dealt with the whole ‘Secret world of Ghosts’ thing. Unless your a millionaire, I doubt you could have afforded all that gear yourself. So you must work for an organization, one which also knows about all this crap…” As Takano put the pieces together, he’d close his eyes and rub the bridge of his nose. “Great, more human groups to deal with. Guess Vayle hasn’t been too forthcoming with info on you guys” Suddenly another Reiryoku would flash, like a blink, before vanishing again. Chiyu would pipe up. “Takano, something is-”“I know” Takano said, cutting her off. Before he could ask where it was originating from, the owner of the Reiryoku would reveal themselves. Well, she was certainly a looker. He’d twitch slightly as she reached for a weapon, stopping just short of drawing his own out of instinct. Takano dropped his burnt out cigarette on the ground and smothered it. “Well, don’t think I’ve ever been called a wrinkle before. I assume you’re the one looking for the cloak? Or are you just his boss? Either way, I’ll tell you the same thing I told him, the artifact is too dangerous to leave over here. And to be honest, I’d rather not be reprimanded by my boss. They’re not nearly as nice or nice to look at” Takano didn’t trust the woman, something was off about her. Damn it, he hated when random shady people interrupted his plans. He did have one ace up his sleeve, though… Jeremy Amari

Jeremy narrowed his eyes as Takano successfully guessed how the soldier operated, it seems like this would not be the first time the soul reaper had dealt with humans organizations. Although the two had made it clear they didn’t want to fight, he couldn’t help but look insulted by the implication of being a mercenary. Yet he was also worried. He was taught about what Soul Society did to the Quincy, and if the Silver Sword were exposed… Jeremy considered the possibility that he might have to take his own life to keep the organization hidden. Thankfully Granny Kaida prevented that from being needed. If there was anyone who could wipe the floor with this samurai poser, it would be her. “O-o-oh my, we just met and you’re flirting with me out in the open? Ohohoho, I could swoon!” Kaida gave noble lady’s laugh and exagerantly waved herself with her off hand. “Jeremy, you should learn something from him, he knows how to make a woman feel special. Jeremy could only look on with a perplexity, jaw dropped and brow scrunched as he watched Kaida make her best ojou-sama impression and be completely friendly with the shinigami. “What?” he asked, his entire body slouched as he watches his superior commander act like this. “You are right, afterall, Mister Hirai. I was the one who ordered Jeremy here to retrieve the cape. It’s my regret that I couldn’t see old Rex change before he passed on to the next life,” Kaida looks down, her smile weakening quite a bit with her eyes closing in thought, before looking back to Takano. “So taking his collection out of the hands of his coven seemed to be a close enough substitute. But at the end of the day, the safest place this artifacts can be is in Seireitei. There are few humans with the money and the power to make a gate to Soul Society, and even less who can make it there in one piece. Although for your sake, hopefully no headstrong teenagers decide to break their way in for it.” She says with another laugh as her joke. Jeremy’s mood lost a little edge, but was no less confused at his CO’s actions. If she knew that, why send him out in the first place. “Lady Kaida-” Jeremy stern eyes looked to the lady, before she looked back with a beaming smile. It caught him off guard, more so when she put a hand on his shoulder. “Thank you for following through this old fool’s request” She say then glance behind her back to the Soul Reaper “I think you can take it from here.” Takano Hirai

The woman had an air of Nobility around her, something Takano was all too familiar with from his youth. But that wasn’t surprising. What was surprising was the fact she was so willing to let Takano leave with the artifact. It was never that easy, was it? No… Something had to be going on, this lady had to have some sort of grand plan up her cuffed sleeves… Takano couldn’t act on intuition alone, that’d be poor conduct. He’d go along with it for now. “Hm. Well, I’m glad you’re so willing to work with us. Not many people are now a days. I’ll keep quiet about you guys for now, consider it a favor” Takano crossed his arms and sighed. “Though I am gonna have to talk with Vayle at some point about this. Maybe see if she’s got anything else she’s trying to keep quiet” His gaze would wander up to his Gigai, which hopped down and stood next to Takano. “I’m heading out then. Pleased to meet you, Lady Kaida” He’d glance over to Jeremy. “Can’t say the same for you, Bonerhead, but at least we didn’t have to fight. Try not to pick anymore fights with Shinigami” Takano would fuse back into his Gigai and crack his next. After checking to make sure everything was good, he’d turn and begin to walk away, lifting a hand to wave goodbye. “Taki… Do you think they were lying…?”“Maybe. Your guess is as good as mine” Jeremy Amari
