Vayle's own shock stopped her form dodging as she saw Estrella go for the punch. There was no question that she'd struck the right nerve, and the conditioning that had appeared to make "Arcadia" was currently stressed to it's limits.
"She was impressed by you... and maybe not the best at regular conversation." Vayle would add. "And she was happy to let you ask questions before asking any of her own. She wanted to let you know what kind of world you were entering." Vayle would respond, leaving her hands at her sides.
She was dimly aware of a bit of blood trailing from her head.
"She was interested in seeing you live up to your potential." she'd continue, waiting to see where this would go. For the first time, she was seeing her best friend peek out from under the mask she'd been placed under, hearing honest emotion instead of sadism from her. "And given how she was... she probably never understood just how meaningful she was to you. How much that relationship really mattered." Vayle added, her voice starting to crack.
The words flew out as Vayle felt a hundred different things. burning shame for her own stupidity. Guilt, for letting this happen to someone she cared about. Rage and hatred directed solely towards Eleanor, for putting someone like Estrella through this all for the sake of their own selfish goals.
Vayle took a deep breath and closed her eyes as she felt tears well up in them, given her position. "...So you really want to avenge her?" She added. "...I'll be in the human world next week. the town of New Vale." She added. "If you're really interested in how much I know about Callia... fight me. If you win, I'll gladly tell you everything about it, before you kill me." Vayle would respond, trying to keep her tone clear. "No Eleanor to bail you out... and no seireitei to bail me out. and in exchange, I'll tell you exactly how to get the person you knew back." she'd respond.
By god, she prayed this'd work. She needed to seperate Arcadia from Estrella, and to do that, she needed to keep Eleanor's poison from muddying this up any further. Hopefully...
Hopefully she'd made this personal enough.
Hopefully her plan would work, and Estrella would be back and sane and...
Hopefully these tears could stay hidden for just a little while, just a little while longer.
Just long enough for Vayle to bring her back.
