Vayle grit her teeth and cursed her luck. Of course, the brass would ask her to do this shit again, because she did such a good job with the hollow the other time. Vayle's grip on her Kodachi became that much tighter as she realized the situation chatting with Tsuyoshi had given her. Now the Brass thought she was someone high-spec for the 20th seat, and gave her the mission to deal with someone who was a minor but troublesome blip on their radar. And unluckily for Vayle, they'd tracked him down, too. The Death God stepped out onto the street, sighing. it would be so easy to just strike him down from the shadows, prevent the damage he'd done... you know, if she was a member of the second division and not the seventh. as it was, though..." "Revenant. A plus playing at being a Death God. responsible for destruction throughout the Rukongai and the illegal destruction of several hollows, threatening the stability of reality itself." Vayle would state. "I'd love to ask you to come in peacefully, but your record states that has a bad track record of working and you attack on sight." The Shinigami showed herself properly on the street as a blaze of stars shot from her Kodachi. "Dazzle, Mahoutsukai!" The woman's sword became an immediately charging reactor, as she held the blaster forward. "Love Sign: Master spark!" Revenant walked in the world of the living, at this point he had racked up a ridiculous body count of hollows. He never could have done it without help from the inside of the soul society, all thanks to his black marketer friend who gave him an amulet of teleportation. The only downside was all the ruckus he was making got the soul society's attention, first it was that other rogue Shinigami, then that healer guy ( Takano Hirai ), now he could feel himself being watched. At the same time however, this meant his reputation had been growing, perhaps all the hollows would come to fear him in due time. The plus would continue walking until he heard the voice of one who could see him, a soul reaper no doubt... She would be one of the "By the book" types, which would prove a much worthier opponent than that renegade Shinigami. He listened to what she had to say "A plus playing death god" that was rich, he would let out an audible laugh at the remark "I am no Shinigami, I am far worse than your type..." He would continue to walk away, but figured the woman would try to stop him. He would quickly turn around to see that she had already launched an attack. It was a beautiful attack, a shame that he had to go and dodge it. Revenant would quickly jump to the side as the beam passed by, it looked pretty destructive. "Well I suppose you'll make a good training partner..."The ruthless plus would draw his blade from a sheath located on his back, and rush directly at Vayle. Vayle grinned at the statement. "Worse than a shinigami?...You're right. That's exactly why I'm bringing you in." The shot was meant to stop him in his tracks, but the blast was deftly avoided. The beam was dodged and to Vayle's shock the Revenant was already on the attack. this one's speed could not be underestimated whatsoever. "Guhh..." The shinigami managed as blood sprayed from her shoulder, the first strike hitting right on target. Vayle managed to barely dodge to the side of the next attack, the blow sweeping right be her hair as she turned, but the third shot seemed right on target for a vital organ. " Like hell you are!" Mahoutsukai's broom yanked Vayle forward and out of the way, and the desperate shinigami was quick to turn around using the broom, panting heavily. This was definitely a dangerous individual. She saw why Takano had a lot of trouble. Vayle took a deep breath as she tried to understand why the brass would send her, of all people, out to deal with this guy. Vayle exhaled. It didn't matter. she had her duty as a shinigami. that's what mattered. She'd take this guy down before he caused any more trouble, spilled any more blood than he already had. Vayle held her reactor forward again. The miniature furnace changed colors in a prismatic display before blasting out a thousand small, exploding, multi-colored stars. "Magic sign: Stardust reverie!" Revenant was surprised at the woman, he wasn't actually aiming for a vital organ, rather the skin near it. This was required to deliver a bleeding effect to his foe after all. He had heard the reports the soul reapers told their people, the higher ups claimed that he was responsible for killing other Shinigami. This was untrue, Revenant believed the reapers to be flawed, but had their hearts in the right place. As long as none stood in his way, he had little reason to fight them, and even if they did stand in his way, he would allow them to keep their lives. After all, both Takano and the rogue had managed to leave their conflicts alive. He would grunt in anger as Vayle took to the skies, this was the move of a cowered in his eyes. Next would come some more of that soul reaper magic he had heard so much about. This wouldn't be too much trouble though... Revenant stood completely still, allowing the barrage of stars to impact him full force. A massive cloud of smoke would appear where he once stood. After a few moments, the cloud would disperse, and Revenant would reappear holding a rocket launcher in his hands. "That was an interesting attack. I suppose it's time for one of my own..." The plus would kneel to the ground lining up a shout against the quick moving broom. He would have to time it just right... Vayle looked on in surprise as the shot seemed to do absolutely nothing to phase their opponent. This was bad. Mahoutsukai was her best shot, and if they couldn't take this guy on with her magic, then he was effectively invincible. This might just be entirely out of her paygrade- " Vayle." "We need to get out of-" The spiritual equivalent of a smack struck her mentally. " Do you really think there's someone out there who's above my paygrade, dunce? Think about it. He dodged the master spark earlier. Dodging means it's dangerous, correct?" "Y-yeah..." " then keep going. I thought you had more trust in me..." Vayle winced at the comment. She... really had just completely mistrusted her blade, hadn't she? The conversation was interrupted by the look of a grenade launched straight at her face, though, and Vayle realized it was too fast to dodge. But... Not quite fast enough to be uncatchable. Vayle grinned as she grabbed the grenade up in her hands, the blast already priming to go off, and Mahoutsukai, realizing her intentions, Dived directly into their opponent, rainbow energy charging up the broom. The grenade went off just as she got next to the Revenant with a big grin. "Hey there~" The idea of catching this guy by surprise almost distracted her from the intense pain that followed, but she held her reishi steady regardless. "Magic sign: Star blazing!" Revenant watched as the woman had grabbed his weapon, he knew what this meant, some kind of counter attack was coming his way. No opponent would be dumb enough to not have a plan after catching a grenade. Gritting his teeth, he would suddenly feel the force of his own attack as Vayle appeared in front of him. If that wasn't bad enough she would follow up with another round of that soul reaper magic. That magic crap was starting to annoy him. He would have to get some better quality armor in the future to help deal with that... In the mean time he would need a new plan of attack, his life force was being drained quickly, and he couldn't afford to get arrested. Actually... Maybe he could. If here were to get imprisoned by the soul society, Zena his girl on the inside, may be able to bust him out. That was only a failsafe plan however... Revenant, who was now heavily bleeding would jump into the air allowing him to lunge at the soul reaper with a flurry of several quick sword slashes. Though they fight was not in his favor, he was a man known for his rage and stubbornness. He wanted to keep this reputation even when losing a fight. Vayle leaped back as the Hollow hunter struck, the gleam of his blade not giving her quite enough time to react as another slash went across her chest, bringing a light trail of blood with the tip of the blade. "...Tch." Vayle leaped back with a graceful set of flash steps, dodging the second strike by blurring out of focus, reappearing behind her opponent just in time to see a sword blade come straight for her. The Strike left a gash across her neck as she hurriedly dodged forward, a blow that cut through numerous previous scars, records of some past battle, and the skin cut through would be previously bumpy. "Heh... that's an unfortunate reminder." Vayle added with an incredibly broad grin, before a look of slight confusion crossed her face... when had she gotten those scars? Were they left-overs from her past as a human?...Questions for later. The Shinigami twirled on one heel to face her opponent properly, and held up her reactor yet again. There really was no helping it against this one - Unfortunately, she had one main trick to rely on without resorting to kido. Vayle grinned. No. that wasn't the way to look at it. She had one way of using her zanpakuto, and it was strong enough to pierce the heavens themselves. She was lucky to have it. "Star sign: Event Horizon." Vayle said with a grin. A bright pulse of energy covered the shinigami, wrapping her in light, as she grinned at her opponent. Revenant would being panting as he had finished his combination of attacks, it was true that he was tired, but his opponent started looking a bit worse for wear as well. Maybe if he could just press on for a bit longer he could fight her off. Then again, his armor was torn to bits at the moment. Any attacks the woman threw at him would likely be direct hits, and from what he had seen so far, that would be a problem... He certainly took no comfort as he watched her power up for a counter attack, it was more of the same Shinigami magic from earlier. First would come the flash of light, though not physically harmful, it temporarily blinded him allowing for her star-like energy wave to hit him directly. The brute of a man would be sent flying into a lamp post, hitting his head against it, and then falling to the ground. It was almost the luckiest defeat imaginable, or was it skill? A crackling sound would be heard in the sky as rain would fall around the two. Revenant would try to stand, but after a hit like that, he moved as if he was in a drunken stupor. After a few other attempts, he eventually fell unconscious on the ground. Though he lost this battle quickly, he fought the soul reaper well in his mind. She was a worthy foe, so being defeated by her was okay to an extent. It was certainly more honorable than the time he lost to that human... [261 Words] Vayle Cameo |

Vayle sighed, coming closer to Revenant as she held up the reactor. She'd seen this man shrug off too many hits for her to be certain on this one, and this could absolutely have been a plot to make her fall victim to a sudden attack. The shinigami walked towards the revenant slowly, waiting till she got closer to kick off his helmet with some trepidation. "Damnit... You got my hands shakin' still." Vayle managed, as the image of the brown-haired man's unconscious face was shown to her. He seemed so different outside the armor, so... ordinary. Within it, he looked like an armored titan, but without it, he was just a... Not just a. Not anymore than Mahoutsukai was just her zanpakuto. Not anymore than Vayle was just a shinigami. he was a sterling example of what pluses could strive to be. She knew the brass wanted him to be executed. She also knew the brass were not going to be happy when they brought him in unconscious but alive. "Exceptional skills for a mere plus... but you need to leave the work of the Death Gods to the Death gods... hopefully, a few decades in prison will make sure you get the picture." Vayle added with a frown. She was still surprised she managed it against this urban legend. Maybe she was a little more competent than she thought, when it came to the brass? or maybe it just came down to luck. who really knows? All she knew for sure was she wasn't looking forward to future assignments at this rate. Taking the armor off piece by piece, she opened her cell phone and called HQ. "Hello? Yes, this is Vayle. Yeah, I've taken down the target. Unconscious, but alive. Yeah, I've got his armor dismantled. It'll be a simple enough matter to transport - though I'd recommend you place it as far away from his cell as possible. maybe give it to the 12th division. they might just be interested in the tech..." As Revenant lied on the pavement unconscious, Vayle was busy taking a phone call, one obviously meant for her superiors. On the other end of the line was the soul society indeed, but Zena was listening in on the conversation. She was Revenant's main supplier, if he went down, she was going down with him. The woman would have to think of something quickly to save both their skins. Knocking on the door, she would quickly enter the room "Oh, Captain! I couldn't help but over hear the situation. That Revenant guy is finally down, and needs to be extracted right? Well how about I give it a shot.?" The captain would be confused as to why she wanted to do this job so badly, but Zena managed to play it off pretty well. A few minutes later, the captain would allow her to be the extractor for this target.
Back on the street as Vayle had finished her phone call, Zena appeared with a joyful smile on her face. "Nice work here. He looks like he was a tough one by all the damage you two caused out here... Well, I'll be taking him and heading back to HQ..." the woman would pick up Revenant and sling him over her shoulder. She would then start walking off into the distance while whispering to him, "You owe me big time for this one. The next time you kill a hollow I want it's mask, that's the least you can do for this! I'm not gonna always be here to bail you out ya know..."
The semi unconscious man would give a slight nod, "..."
